I kinda liked this picture when I loaded it up, so I have not done any work with it at all (not even cropped it). The story behind it is that we had an early start at dawn in the field when we was nearly attacked by the fog. It lay over the whole area, in addition it was relatively dark and slightly bluish light. It was a fantastic atmosphere in the field, in addition we had found this year's biggest house from Iron Age. Magic... Then I thought: can I have a better job than this:)

Over 9 inches of snow covered the conifers and the delicate bare branches of a lone deciduous tree in the blue light of a January pre-dawn.

The expression "a blue streak" means to do something very fast, e.g., "to move like a blue streak" or "talk a blue streak". This certainly describes my life lately, and as a result I have fallen *way* behind on posting photos. It hasn't stopped me from taking photos though, and I do have quite a few to work through. However, quantity and quality sometimes don't go together and I've found myself in something of a creative rut of late. Can't seem to break through my compositional mental blocks. Also, my lucky streak with colorful clouds earlier in the year has sadly come to an end and my more recent shots have come with either too few or too many clouds. This shot did not require too much creativity in composition. Or rather, I like my fairly "standard" comp and didn't come away thinking there was anything that might have worked much better. (of course, that's probably not true, but basically, I'm not unhappy with this one).

From a very quick visit to the Netherlands I had a few hours to wander Amsterdam at night. Was trying to get to the highly photographed Leidse Gracht location (see Albert Dros for good examples from there), but got lost somewhere along the way. Eventually found a nice looking bridge and decided that would do. In between the many takes ruined by car lights, I managed to get this one with a boat going under the bridge. A 90s exposure and voila, le "streak"! Taken with Pentax K-1 and Pentax 24-70mm lens (no pixel shift used here due to the light streaking).

To all my good flickr friends who take the time to view and comment on my photos, I do apologize for my absence these past few weeks and hope I can get caught up over the next few weeks.

along Seine river in bateau-mouche

Taken from the balcony of the holiday home we rented on the hillside below the village of Montauroux in Provence, France, after a storm had broken. Montauroux is one of the "perched villages" in the hills above Cannes and Nice. The village lights were just starting to come on in the twilight, as a wonderful burst of reflected light from the sunset framed the scene. This is a panorama produced from two handheld images taken alongside each other

The first time I was able to witness this phenomenon this summer. Pretty nice during blue hour and literally seen from my terrace!

The high over cast skies, the late blue light of sunset and a sliver of the moon (with earth glow) lends to the other world feeling. At first I wasn't going to bother, but it keep nagging me...so here it is.

Sent to me by somebody i know who used to work for strathclyde police.

These fine art sculptures were made by Syrian Artist/ Sculptor, Rabia Al-Akhras. Horses represents the power, pride, speed and reliability. They are in the tradition of almost every civilization in the world. They are beautifully placed between the fountains at Jeddah waterfront enhancing the beauty of the place.

Are we sitting comfortably? Then I'll begin...

It's been a bleak and blustery rainy Sunday, the highlight of which was a trip into town to meander round the shops and have a coffee. As I left Cafe Nero laden with my purchases, I was contemplating the rashness of having consumed a piece of very rich white and dark chocolate truffle cheesecake along with a Caramelatte, topped with a veritable Everest of whipped cream and caramel syrup. Head down against the drizzle, and somewhat preoccupied with attempting to retain my cholesterol-fest, I stepped off the pavement - straight in front of not one, but TWO police cars as they hurtled hell-for-leather, blue lights flashing, down the narrow side street...

Fortunately, I managed to remove myself - and shopping - from harm's way as the plods-on-wheels flashed past my eyes, leaving no time indeed for my life to pass the same way. As circumstances often do, this near-miss had a beneficial effect in that I ceased to worry about which direction my recently-consumed coffee and cake was going to go, and instead worried that my heart was going to explode. In the meantime, the plods had careered out of sight, but I couldn't help smirking as I heard one car sidewipe a bollard further up the narrow alley. Serves them right for driving so fast in town!

Still pondering my near miss, I became aware of the sound of pounding feet over the noise of my pounding heart, and I was almost mown down again - this time by a pack of wannabee Goths, black hair and long coats flying as they thundered past me in pursuit of the speeding police cars. (Er - should the police cars not have been chasing THEM???)

All the while, I was waddling back to my car, burdened as I was with a heavy bag of shopping (Not just ANY shopping - this was Marks & Spencers' shopping!) However, before I reached my vehicle, a burly copper on foot came racing the other way, doing his best to beat the four-minute mile - hotly pursued again by the Goth boys who were hell-bent on finding out what the police chase was all about!

It was all too much for me, and I dissolved into semi-hysterical giggles at the farcical goings-on...

I never did find out what was happening, and as I had left my camera at home, I couldn't have taken a picture even if I'd been able to stop laughing long enough! So - today's picture is representational of my Keystone Kops afternoon - improvised using two of the wee plastic buckets over a couple of flashlights!

While I was waiting for the sunrise, I shot many photos..but it wasn't until I was looking at this scene before I realized just how magnificent these Falls are. With just about the right amount of tourists and photographers walking about everyone I believe got the shot they wanted. I want to thank my friends Bert and Lynn for allowing me to hang around as well as Maureen for putting up with me..This is one weekend I will truly cherish..

- "What's that?"

- "It's blue light."

- "What does it do?"

- "It turns blue."

Humberside Fire And Rescue Brand New Scania P280 Driver Training Vehicle Seen Here Conducting a Blue Light Run Along Garrison Road In Hull. Have to give a massive thank you to the Contact who works in the Driver Training Department for telling me he was on his way.

One of york's astra's (YJ56 ZPN) attending an RTC in york city centre, also attending this incident was YJ55 TTF volvo v70 t5 from the RPG.

I caught her in a small venue in San Juan Capistrano, Ca. (The Coach House- 27 Jan 2019) She's an American singer and song writer. More recognized older works might be "Wreck of the Day" or "Breathe". Excellent show. If you get a chance to catch her show, it's well worth seeing. The lighting was stage lighting. Depending on the artist they allow cameras in the place but no flash photography. The lighting effects were very interesting. They had a lot of Red/Blue and Pink/Blue, Green, Red, All Blue, All Red and they would switch them around for different back lighting effects.

They like to match there surrondings... =)
