Macro Monday: The Blues

Chase The Blues away by immersing yourself in photography.

Tiny USB multi-colour light - the surface of the light (and it's reflection) measures less than an inch.

The bottom of a cut crystal glass. Love the convergence of lines and loops and light and that it reflects the blue of the sky light.

Christmas card fire brigade of Zug.

This is a digital painting on top of a daytime photo, transforming it into a night time photo.

During our trip to the Lofoten islands, I asked our friend and fellow photographer Maciej Markiewicz about the amazing light display we were contemplating one evening. He said "oh, so you noticed already the blue light". He was waiting for us to notice the unique blue tone of Arctic light at this time of the year.

In the Arctic we can see things that look a little strange to those who were never there before. These phenomena are caused by special atmospheric conditions that are difficult to explain not being a scientist.

Scientist or not, we were treated to an amazing light display that evening despite the unsettled weather.

For those who think I went a bit overboard with Photoshop here, these colours were, as far as a camera can record, what we saw with our own eyes.

Cycling no matter the temperatures. Finally it was significantly below 0°C this morning. On my way back home we were at 0.5°C again. But it's getting warmer soon anyways.

Shot without tripod and stabilized only by the handrail of the bridge. Edited the JPG on my Smartphone with LR Mobile.
