Haraki beach, east coast of Rhodes island, Greece, an ordinary seaside town, quite unattractive actually, but the castle ruins on the hill are beautifully situated and lit up, this is one of those places that look much crappier during the day.

Nice to have a winter shot before it ends, we've had little snow......seen in my neighborhood; I went home to get my camera, time of the day when snow has blue tones...

Thanks for your visit...enjoy your week! Pat...xo

Blue hour light falls on the coast

I walked outside to find an unpredicted heavy fog and light rays emanating from the light at my neighbor's house. I rushed to get my gear and tripod, but by the time I was ready, it had almost completely dissipated. Oh, well.

Quite a unique experience yesterday at Te Mata Peak: The rise of the Wolf Moon, which was also a Supermoon that makes the moon appear slightly larger than normal, while the sun setting opposite the moon was creating a very colourful sky. A nice one to add to my collection of Te Mata Peak shots.

Yesterday I was going to shoot sunset once again, but I didnt get to my head where to go. I drove to nearby lake and started to walk on the ice and tried to find something to shoot. I missed the sunset, but finally I found a composition. there's not much bluehour photos on my photostream, but now there is one more.

Going through my 2016 Lightroom archive....... finding this remarkable night I spend with BlueHourMaster Koos de Wit.

... hard to believe it is here already this week ... seems like I just took this photo at the 4th of July yesterday ... but Turkey Day is about here. Where does the time fly?

A bit of a blue hour seascape for you this morning hot off the press. I needed a sunrise this morning but I didn’t really get one. I’m forgotten the last time I caught a good one, I always seem to catch that big bank of clag on the horizon. Never mind I enjoyed it all the same apart from the walk, as I have welly wounds. Unfortunately I walked too far in my wellies on Monday with just ankle socks on, and the little knobbly bits the protrude from the ankle got rubbed raw. I had hoped they’d healed enough for the short walk to the coast from the car, but straight away the scabs were rubbed off and joined the pythons ministry of funny walks. Luckily the injuries are not bothered by walking in my trainers, so to meet Carla half way walking the dogs was OK. It’s funny walking to meet Carla and the dogs, as soon Oscar catches sight of me (it’s always Oscar as I’m sure Toby is going blind), those little terriers turn into huskies and drag Carla at pace towards me. None of those passionate slow motion run’s to embrace in my marriage, this is the only time Carla rushes to meet.

This is the entrance to The Hague surrounded by modern architecture and always busy with traffic as you can see, but for the photographer always something to do there as a well-known hotspot.....

Blue hour at an abandoned house in Pueblo County. The dark blue and magenta colors at the horizon are caused by the shadow of the earth.

It's definitely worth the expense to go to the top for the view. I stayed up for over an hour and I've highlighted some of the places you can see.

The tower famously collapsed in 1902 during building works see here

Fortunately no-one was killed , just the caretaker's cat.

It was rebuilt after much debate 'just as it was '- well hopefully more stable this time.

For €10 you can climb to the top (in a lift) and admire the view over the City

Some photos are best taken when people and cars are 'absent' i.e. well before sunrise. The Buttery is a landmark restaurant in Lewes. The building sat idle for years before it was renovated and became the new home for The Buttery.
