A study in blue

For Friday's flower power.

 

Before roses, hybrid irises were my first love. I had maps of each bed, complete with variety names, dates of first blooms, height, etc. Then iris borers struck. I fought back but they were relentless. Ironically, irises I gave to my next door neighbor are doing fine, right across the fence from my closest bed.

 

No one ever said that life is fair.
