Blessing my new house. Thai monks who stayed in the Netherlands for 3 months, have blessed my house :)
What is happening out of frame is the "blessing of the ovaries," J.F.'s favorite activity involving females. It helps when there's baby juju present to focus the fertility energy.
He also does a blessing for the male reproductive organs, but I don't believe Philip chose to take part this particular day, at least not on camera.

Wonderful devotional that really made me think :)
I loved the passage from Rick Warren's book:
"The purpose of your life is far greater than your own personal fulfillment, your peace of mind, or even your happiness. It’s far greater than your family, your career, or even your wildest dreams and ambitions. If you want to know why you were placed on this planet, you must begin with God. You were born by his purpose and for his purpose."
It seemed to me we sometimes need to get back to basics. Stop worrying about the big stuff and make sure we take care of the little things that can make such a difference to us all.
Matthew 10:29 came to mind: Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground outside your Father's care.
Symbolically, feeding the birds is a small thing to do but has great impact when we do that! If we can perhaps free ourselves from worrying about the big things - or at least from letting those things take over our minds and hearts - and focus on little things we can do well with great love, everything else will follow.
I think perhaps the US election fever and the reactions that we can't seem to escape atm on social media and mainstream played a subconscious part in my thinking today! The results of a whole nation voting can't be changed and people seem to feel helpless, but there is a lot that we all can do in making the world a better place where we are. Let's just start there and see where we're led...? Be blessed by being a blessing to others.

Today, January 6, was a major religious festival in Greece and other orthodox countries, the feast of Epiphany (Theofania in Greek). It commemorates the baptism of Jesus in the River Jordan.
After the Divine Liturgy in Church, the priests and congregation proceed to the nearest body of water, in this case Glyfada Beach, and proceed to bless the waters, finishing off by casting a cross into the water which is retrieved by swimmers who brave the cold waters. The one who retrieves the cross is especially blessed. Large numbers of people gather to witness the event, which is usually followed by a leisurely seafood meal in a nearby fish taverna.

Upon uttering the bless spell, the caster raises the morale of friendly creatures by +1. Furthermore, it raises their "to hit" dice rolls by +1. A blessing, however, will affect only those not already engaged in melee combat.

I have been away for a few weeks, and on my return I find so many dear flickr friends are in distress with their beautiful four legged family members. Last night Annie and I chanted a blessing, said all your names out loud and wished that
"All will be well
All will be safe
All will be as it should
All will be as it must."
And so it will be........
