I was parked under a tree in the shade when I noticed these baby Sparrowhawks waiting for their lunch. I had the wrong lens with me as I wasn't expecting to see something like this. It was into strong sunlight as well, so a bit tricky all round really. I felt I had to take it though.
Any tips on this sort of photography would be gratefully received! I will add that I was very careful not to disturb them and they seemed quite used to people, as there were several around.

The bluetits are nesting, but rather than go in the bird box they used last year, and which I cleared out for them, they've chosen to go in this oversized one that's too difficult to clear. Goodness knows what it's like inside as its had bees living in there too. And another pair are nesting under a roof tile.

This snake wanted the baby birds. But they fledged two days ago. Lucky birds, unlucky snake.
2020 Weekly Alphabet Challenge: Daring. I'm the daring one, getting this close to this guy. Although I wasn't concerned at all.

I came back from being away for 3 days and found our bluebirds VERY active at the box. Both mom and pop were bringing insects to the opening and loud peeping could be heard when they landed on the box. The first 2021 brood has arrived!

One of the Blue tit youngsters looking out of the bird box today. Record shot only as shooting obliquely through glass in poor light. Not ready to fly the nest yet despite its parents calling and offering food outside!
Last shot for a while. Will look out for all my Flickr followers photos when I get the chance.

Nesting in my back garden, A pair of Blue Tits (Cyanistes Caeruleus). Occasionally they use the perch, mostly fly straight to the hole and steady themselves with their tails as you can see here. Quite surprising given the speed on approach!

I think its the same chick falling out of the nest each time but they have nested in a swift box so it can't come to any harm
I like this cosy box..
Surrounded and protectred by Holly Branches, therefore quite safe from predators..
Thank you Deida.
So I decided to look into this movie because one of my friends told me about it, I found some interest in it, so of course I decided to make the Monster from the movie. So this was actually difficult, what I had to do was... wait a minute my camera was doing the Birdbox Challenge! Darn, all well like in the movie you would probably kill yourself if you saw it anyway or something (I don't mean I'm encouraging you to, please don't you have a wonderful life to live, if you haven't seen the movie anyone that sees the monster kills themself, there are some people that don't too, just look up the plot and everything will become more clear on what I'm trying to tell you), so you're all probably wondering, why am I still alive after seeing and making this guy? Well the answer is dqffgtkwgmdgunedrnorfwkfri2ditgedj1d9rcj2d94c2jscirc92d4uvebz1d9rco1src92zockr j2s94vi3xicj4c92x3ic3od2s93ci49denc4vp3d2xo4vo3d92x9g3di3crdj2dbrcb2ctobtovqskck5vo2djqzejcvrod2o49694f81sixwntk2d1skevog4o3dkrcgk43fkwiv4fix3ov4kf9do3cv53djxenrvkf3kxeckr4fkc3ocrck393cnc4d2ox3j3fjd2iv5ox23cjrc8f3uvruf3je3jcxjwdj3xidoxeo3cjc4md3n2xnxwkcei2do2xo i2xoso4c9xi2xnecx2j3xj

Delighted to see this Wren visit one of the bird boxes, despite previous squirrel damage.

one of the adult house wrens, leaving the nesting box on the porch with some unwanted debris.
This box is really old. It was hanging on the porch when Larry bought the place back in the early 70's. I believe the gentleman that owned the property before Larry built it.
Nothing special to look at....the tin roof is battered and curling, but it's by far the most popular box on the property.
Every spring the chickadees and house wrens battle over squatting rights.
Last week, while I was up home I noticed the parents coming and going, almost non-stop , and every time I walked out onto the porch and made any noise at all it would set off a chorus of little "cheeps" coming out of the box.
Sounds like there are a lot of hungry mouths to feed in there!
Colourful bird boxes at Minnowburn.
Fairly high up - not a trivial task to put these in place.
Not sure what the idea is having them all quite so close together.
..maybe they are for bats rather than birds?

Bluebird Mom and Dad share the feeding duties for the hungry chicks. They are in and out of the box all day. They both work very hard to keep the "kids" happy!
