Picked these up at Giant Eagle yesterday in a display in the aisle of the baby stuff. This box was designed as a cereal container (milk goes in the bottom part to stay cool via the pink gel, cereal goes in the top part and you use the bending spoon that secures inside the lid.
Top container holds about 400ml, bottom container holds about 150ml. It cost $6.50.
They also had Diego, Disney Princess and Spiderman themed ones. Made by "Zak."
Made with fabric left over from upholstering a foam pad. The cushions provide the back support for the sofa
First bento meal of the trip, while travelling from Yokohama to Kyoto via the Shinkansen. My bottle of green tea (top) was branded as part of a Shinkansen 50th anniversary set and came with a small keepsake magnet.
Bento box for $30--pricey but you get what you pay for. This one contained 5 pieces of super fresh sashimi (tuna and hamachi), 3 pieces of saba shio (broiled mackerel), 3-4 pieces unagi, steamed rice, and a full set of shrimp and vegetable tempura. Everything was perfectly cooked.
This was the first time I've ever tried adding the little flange around the edge, before binding. I like it.
The prices for bento boxes has gone up at Family Market. The quality is still the same and there's certainly enough food.
The box wiith the food sits on top of the box with the rice. It's not plain white rice this time. In the food tray there is a slice of mackerel, two very tasty patties containing meat, some salad, some vegetables, a bit of omelet, and some ginger.

Family Bento! We took a picnic to the farm yesterday and I made bentos for all of us. This was my bento. I've just re-started Weight Watchers post-baby, so mine was packed with 0 point veggies. The sausage was 5 points and the apples were another point for a total of 6 points.

Binding and backing. I bound the quilt by machine using another print from Neptune; there are a few inserts along the edge using thin scraps from piecing the top. On the back I set in some strips of scraps, too -- I'm determined not to waste a millimeter of those gorgeous prints.
This recent bento box features some yummy orange "chicken" with fried rice. (it's under the cukes!)
Not real chicken but chicken flavored seitan. Recipe on today's hapabento blog post.

TOP: mini malted milk biscuits, mini hear shaped carrot, choc raisons, box of normal raisons, sugarsnap peas, carrot batons as filler!
BOTTOM: flower cucumber, babybel cheese with heart shape, grapes on animal pick and extra grapes, spaghetti bolognese (frozen) and grapes to fill space!
It is so cold here today. Maybe it is around -40 degrees celsius. I made a snowman bento to remind me that snow isn't all that bad. The snowman is based off of a snowman bento that luckysundae made. Thank you for the inspiration!
Three bunnies sitting in a field of spring flowers. A third portion of husbands birthday cake, along with mandarin and a light salad with cherry tomato and cheese heart skewers.
This is what was left in the lunch when it came home. The bun, which was pulled from the freezer and thawed, was pronounced "stale". Guess those need to be toasted to be edible.

The trick is to freeze the dipping sauce. Because the fritters are fried, they are quite filling - but the whole bento us under 400 calories. More on JustBento.
Little frozen fish fillets designed to be microwaved in their little individual containers, then packed in bento lunches. Review and example of these packed in a lunch are here at the Lunch in a Box speedy lunch packing blog.
