Day Fourteen
Use a different person/point of view for journaling. Well...I sort of did that.
Journaling reads:
"most people don't understand my situation. they want to judge it & criticize it. why is it so HARD to understand? matt & i bought a house while dating. we figured out we were better off as roommates than a couple. we live together - in peace. jon & i are dating. okay, so maybe it is a little complicated - but for now it works. i've got two awesome dudes...life is good. 10-11"
*Additional info...I dated Matt for 6 years, so buying a house wasn't a spur of the moment decision. We are great friends and continue to get along...perhaps better now than we did while we were dating. Lots of people don't understand how we can live in peace, especially since I'm dating somebody new. It makes us laugh...it's not that complicated.*

9 1/2" x 7 1/2" photo frame with 4x6 photo opening. Frame is embellished with papers from BasicGrey's LillyKate collection. It is embellished with a pink ribbonwork flower from my Fairy's Flower Garden Collection. It includes vintage buttons and vintage flower stamens, paper lace and a tag with the word "Sweet".
Just a little gift bag I made for a white elephant swap. The canvas flower is Basic Grey, the orange flowers are Prima, the butterfly is Cosmo Cricket, the alphas are October Afternoon and the tapes are from etsy. I clipped the tag onto the bag so that it can be used again.

Each Wednesday I show a card on my blog that is ispired by a tin box out of my collection.
This tin box was packaging material for a watch I once bought.
For the background I used a sheet from a Paper Pad by Basic Grey 'Stella Ruby'. Inspired by the lid of the box, I stamped with the Plaid Background Stamp on green paper with Distress Ink Pumice Stone. I used this paper for the bird. The wings and birdhouses are made from paper scraps. I made some stitches as a hanging for the birdhouses.
An Art Tile by Prima to finish it of.

The details? Charm squares in Origins by Basic Grey - with a little bit of dark brown jumbo ric-rac and 2.5" bands of solid white. I bound it with a fun little brown dot that I got in the remnant bin for a steal 'cause of a botched dye job! {grin}
Back to my comfort zone....layered, busy, and single page, one photo!
TItle is hand stitched, as is the stitching on the felt around the photo.
Feathers, rosette (changed from original color), frame, and blue woodgrain (changed from original color) from Kitschy Digitals. Just check out those feathers! They look real!
Cookie Time! pillow made as a store sample. The pattern called for paint pen for the details but I embroidered it. The fabric is from the Moda Fruitcake line by Basic Grey. The embroidery thread is Presencia and I love it! Does not tangle.

My two eldest children - that year Naomi copied everything her brother, Kyle, did! For the papers, I used basic grey (sultry) and Crate Paper (Trendy) with lots of stamping (La Blanche and Heidi Swapp)... plus all my fave techniques - distressing, inking, handstitching, buttons, flowers, lacing ribbon, Martha Stewart edge punch... and the butterfly was part of a gift tag my youngest daughter gave to me.

cut all these tiny words out using my silhouette and made the speech bubble freehand. i hand lettered the pronunciation of my granddaughters words. detail photo shows the second smaller bubble, that was painted and then doodled, showing the date. Can you believe a little 14 month old can say so much?
