Happy New Year!

We went for a lovely winter's walk in some local woods this morning. It was properly Wintery and lovely - warm sun, big blue sky, starkness of the bare trees, ice everywhere and lots of friendly people out walking their children & dogs. Plus obviously it was bloody freezing.

New Year's Resolutions:

1. Be a better friend

2. Do or at least start to train for a 10k run

3. Eat more seasonally

4. Try not to eat too much cake when the baby's born.

Taken on my recent trip to Tasmania, in Lauceston. This was just before the rain came. I was out the front of the b &b taking photos when I noticed this bare tree. I love silhouette shots and thought this one tree had nice lines and interesting pattering to it.

Monday here, wherever did that weekend go, only two more Mondays til my holidays though. :)))))))))))))))

Have a great day and if you are still in Sunday land enjoy :) Car

going through my pictures, deleting some, exploring others for possibilities

When I realized that the trees outside were being pruned and today's prompt is 'bare trees' - I managed to find one ... my Japanese Maple- still full of tall gangling branches and sitting among the tall evergreens. #cy365 30/365

Photographer Daniel Burleson on Big Yellow Mountain.

Daniel Burleson, Dale King and I finally hiked out to the southern grassy balds of Big Yellow Mountain. Even with the 14°F temperature, 40 mph wind and numb fingers we had a very enjoyable visit. As you can see, there was a clear blue sky, so the early morning, golden light did not last long. I am looking forward to hiking back out there soon to capture this new discovery in different seasons, weather and moods.

The village green and mature Ash tree in the conservation village of Barningham, County Durham, in spring sunshine.

This path in the park is between a canal and river Werra (hidden behind the trees). A really great construction, but in summer the river is almost totally hidden by trunks and trees.

Poor park!

Sunday walk in the sun.

I felt like playing around with my snowy owl, so I took him on a flight of fantasy.
