Whitehouse Beacon 225 camera with rear lens element removed.
Of course, when I say "removed", I mean that the lens element fell out before I shot the last few frames.

St John the Baptist, Mildenhall, commonly known as Minal Church, at sunset. Parts of the lower tower are a relatively rare Saxon survival, from just before the Norman Conquest, although there was a church on the site by the end of the 8th Century, and the first recorded use of the name ‘Mildanhald’ was in 804. Most of the building, however, is 13th Century with some very early Norman details.
Sir John Betjeman refers to St. John's as “a church of a Jane Austen novel”. Simon Jenkins includes it in his England's Thousand Best Churches. St. John’s parish is now part of the Marlborough team ministry.
This is the village of Milldenhall outside Marlborough in Wiltshire, not the larger settlement in East Anglia.

Qingkou Valley water-filled rice terraces, early morning, Yunnan, China. This shot may not be to everyone's taste. Although it looks like a monochrome, it is actually a colour shot, presented as seen (a small bit of green can be seen mid frame). I liked the look, seen through the bare trees, almost like a Chinese pen and ink drawing. If you look carefully you can see a tiny reflected figure walking along one of the dykes mid right.

"And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the Universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."

Lesotho's "Main Road North" runs through the village of Ha Morameng in the north west of the country. Well tarmacked but narrow, this is one of the southern African mountain kingdom's main roads. The trees are bare in July midwinter.
At around 1700m above sea-level, this area in the Leribe District is in Lesotho's lowlands, and the mountains in the distance are relatively "low" too, as evidenced by the lack of snow cover.
Two images in two days with roads and vehicles on them. One yesterday was warm and this one is cold feeling.
I dug this one out of the library looking for something else and really liked the look and feel in this one.

The color silver is related to the moon and the ebb and flow of the tides. It is supposedly full of feminine energy. Silver is fluid, sensitive, and mysterious. It is considered soothing, calming, and purifying. Believe it, or not.

Middleworth Tor and bare trees under a moody sky on Dartmoor
Another shot of this place taken on a wet day in December.
It looks so different in sunshine, but I do like the moody look.

The still air, thick with humidity, together with the dark clouds over head, filled us with a sense of foreboding. The storm was coming.
