I feel very lucky to have visited Banff. This was our first day in the Rocky Mountains. Found a bar with a rooftop to sit and look out on this view.

Spent some time at Banff, Alberta over the holidays and managed to capture a few winter scenes. This one was shot on the frozen Bow River near the town of Banff.

This photo appeared in the March 2013 issue of the British online magazine, "Landscape Photography Magazine".

Here we see the town of Banff in the Bow River Valley of Banff National Park, with Cascade Mountain looming over the town on the left.

The mountain was named in 1858 by James Hector after the waterfall or cascade on the southern flanks of the peak. Cascade is the highest mountain adjacent to the Banff town site.

The famous Banff Springs Hotel can be seen in the lower center of the shot.

This shot is from the top of Sulfur Mountain on the opposite side of the Bow River Valley

Banff has such an old west feel to it, so I decided to make this one look like the 1800's...=D

The view from the trail heading up Sulphur mountain under the Gondola. The Stanley Thompson ( Banff Springs ) golf course , The Bow river and the bottom of Tunnel Mountain. An area we know so well having visited for many years.

This is in Banff National Park, in Alberta Canada. This is one of the most photographed scenes in the Park. Lake Louise being the most photographed, probably I guess. The water in front is the Vermillion Lakes and Banff town is the Middle left of the photo behind the evergreen trees.
