Chateau Lake Louise, built by the Canadian Pacific Railway, first opened it's doors in 1890. It has survived fire and numerous additions and renovations.

Banff, who doesn't want to live here? But as I remembered from a conversation I had with a local, it's not easy getting to live there, you have to either work there or have worked there for 5 years, maybe that's good too otherwise it would be crowded with wealthy old people ;)

Bankhead was a coal mining town that operated from 1903 unitl 1922. When the mining operations stopped, the town was abandoned. Lower Bankhead Trail winds through the remains of the town.

As I mentioned earlier, I was most pleasantly surprised to find out that there is public transit between Calgary and the town of Banff (inside Banff National Park), and between Banff and surrounding sites. The Banff public bus service is called Roam and each bus is painted in a special theme.
