Caught these in the local gardens as they were just opening and the little pink buds made their appearance. These were from rows of planted small onions.

Usually not an abstract shooter but had to play around with the light tunnel at the Scentsy Commons.
A busy time ahead, and I'm afraid my flickring is going to very limited for most of this month (even more so than it has been recently :). I'll catch up when I can but won't be uploading much, if at all.
Bursting Through The Hedge. When I saw this sprout bursting through the top of the hedge I thought of how each of us can enter our unique path and not necessarily align with societal norms.
Last Friday, I took a lovely walk to drop off a birthday card to a very good friend of mine. Along the way I chanced upon a whole row of wonderful ornamental Japanese cherry blossom trees in full bloom! The weather wasn't the best that day, with grey leaden skies, however I promised myself I would go back and photograph them on the next sunny day. That day turned out to be the following afternoon, which was beautiful with azure skies and golden light. So I decided to revisit the grove of Japanese cherry blossom trees. With the sun shining on the petals of these blossoms they were so delightfully eye catching and were crying out to be captured within my lens.
A cherry blossom, also known as a Japanese cherry or sakura, is a flower of trees in the genus Prunus or the Prunus subgenus Cerasus. Wild species of the cherry tree are widely distributed, mainly in the Northern Hemisphere. They are common in East Asia, especially in Japan. They generally refer to ornamental cherry trees, not cherry trees grown for their fruit. The cherry blossom is considered the national flower of Japan.

The Columbia River Gorge wildflowers on a wonderful sunrise during a workshop that Kevin McNeal and I led this spring.
A Trabant bursting through the wall from East Germany .. very symbolic of those times and a very good image on the wall at the East Side Gallery.
The East Side Gallery is the longest remaining stretch of original Berlin Wall and is now a display canvas for many artists. When viewing these we are standing in what would one have been the East German 'Death Zone', the deadly strip of land between East and West.
