BBC Television Centre (sometimes abbreviated TVC or TC) in London is home to much of BBC television output and, since 1998, almost all of the corporation's national TV and radio news output by BBC News. Opened in 1960, the building is four miles west of Central London at Shepherd's Bush. It was one of the world's first purpose built buildings for television production and is one of the world's largest centres. It is recognisable (often as a backdrop) throughout many appearances in BBC programmes. The building also features a distinctive circular central block (often affectionately referred to by staff as the 'doughnut') around which are studios and offices. It was built as a circle so that when cables were laid from one studio to another, through the centre of the circle, the cabling distance between all studios was the same. In the centre of the main block is a statue designed by T.B.Huxley-Jones, of the Greek god of the sun, Helios, which is meant to symbolise the radiation of television light around the world. At the foot of this statue are two reclining figures, symbolising sound and vision, the components of television. copyright BBC

So, this morning when I looked at Facebook it told me 'you have memories today' and when I clicked on the link it showed a post from Monday October 31st 2011 to mark my first day as a BBC employee.
Five years has gone by incredibly quickly; there's been a lot of change in the Beeb during that time, and I have done a lot of stuff here. For anyone that doesn't know, I'm a sound engineer (called a 'Studio Manager' in the BBC), currently working in the Radio Current Affairs department, and mainly what I do is to record, edit and mix radio programmes for Radio 4 and the World Service.
I started out back in 2011 at Bush House, where I was in charge of the studios for live news programmes by the 27 language services which broadcast overseas by the World Service.
It's been a rollercoaster ride at times, but I'm still proud to work for what I would say is the greatest broadcaster in the world.
I chose to mark the day by bringing in my X-E2 with the wide angle Fuji XF10-24mm lens to capture this view of the facade of New Broadcasting House, my current BBC home. Nice of the sun and some blue sky to make an appearance today rather than the usual greyness and clouds that I'm used to ...

An English gentleman who spoke in front of videocamera during a demonstration.
He did everything himself, he assembled his equipment then spoken and gone, all in five minutes ... English people are very efficient.
As all of you, my bitty-friends know, I couldn't make any quilt with my bitties because I looooooooooove to see them, individually and I'm affraid to construct a quilt, it will be keeped and I will not see it all the time, or I hang it and it will be dirty, it will need to wash and this can damage them, so my lovely mother gave me the idea to keep them in a photo-album, and it worked soooooo well, now I can see everyone, the will be not dirty and neither damage! Thank you Mom!!!! You are the best!!!
