My second opportunity to create a cake for the fab team of BBC Sydney came 3 weeks ago when I was contracted to make a farewell cake. The specs were to create an ipad cake as one of their long serving staff was retiring and was being presented with an ipad. So this is what I came up with....a handmade ipad (craved out of styro-foam) covered with edible image (BBC wall paper) and topped with handmade icons,which the staff could keep as a momento (although, I'm guessing she'll be enjoying the real one more!!!). The ipad sits in a gift box made out of cake.

This cake weighed a mamoth 18kgs, was 9" tall, 15" wide and took 2 of us to carry it. I really enjoyed making this one as I learnt and discovered new techniques ...

Cake: Moist orange butter cake, layered with Belgian dark chocolate ganache and Swiss butter cream. Covered with fondant.
