Finally getting a chance to watch 'The Hour' on BBC America. After a couple episodes I'm hooked! I really hope they are doing a second season...this show is too good to only do one season. I'm kind of obsessed with Dominic West right now after seeing this and 'Appropriate Adult' on Sundance recently. 'The Wire' is next on my list to check out.

The BBC's French language service for Africa says it listens to the continent. At the very least, they have had some very hard-working employees over the years. Behind, a residential street in Kinshasa. Like the rest of the city, it was largely barren on election day as shops, restaurants and markets shuttered their doors (at least the ones that have doors).

Edit:

My short Badger video has made it's way on to the 'BBC Spring Watch twitter' page... I've added a link here and at the bottom of the comments.

One of my picture is published in BBC Wildlife Magazine February 2016 issue.

The title is the motto of the BBC.

The BBC was founded in 1922. I was awoken this morning with thoughts of how the BBC should be funded, the purpose of the national broadcaster, and what do I want from it. And then, how much is it worth to me.

These days , I only listen to Radio 3. The news programs I find selective and usually shallow. The regional channels are irrelevant to me. I don't watch TV. The World Service is OK. I seldom use the website.

Currently TV owners pay an annual licence fee that generates 3 billion Pounds of revenue to the BBC. Their annual budget is about 5 billion.

The radio has been a lifelong friend. There was a radio licence in UK until 1971. How much would that be today if reintroduced?

Should I just switch to Radio New Zealand Concert and be done with it?!

I wonder how other countries fund their Public Service Broadcasters.

One last badger shot from the sett for this year.

Back again next spring.
