Photographed in Fremont, CA, this is probably the VAH 600 sleeper cab model. Car carriers are the "lowriders" of the trucking industry. Their chassis are designed to be as low as possible so that they clear most overpasses when fully loaded with vehicles.

Auf dem Weg zum Bahnhof konnte bei Pölling die noch im gelb / silbernen Farbkleid gehaltene ES 64 U2-013 (182 513-2) von MRCE Dispolok mit dem perfekt zur Lok passendem Zug im schönstem Abendlicht fotografiert werden. Der Zug war in Richtung Nürnberg unterwegs. (19.04.2011)

Here these Daf 66 Type 66 YA military vehicle were brand new and put on transport.

In 1974 the Dutch army ordered a pick-up like vehicle at Daf.

Although she looks like a kind of 'Jeep' she is not a 4x4 vehicle but has traction only on the rear wheels.

Only 1201 items were build. Arround 1990 all of them got 'retired'.

The Daf 66 was based on the 44/55 series and had a modified front end.

The truck is a 1973/1974 Daf FA 2000.

RoRo Autotransporter auf dem Rhein

Der neue Nightjet - mit 3. Klasse alias "Liegewagen" für besonders (un)bequemes Reisen? ;)

Nein, natürlich nicht. :) Nightjet-Taurus 1116 195 ist - wie so ziemlich alle anderen ÖBB-Werbeloks auch - in ganz "normalen" Lokumläufen verplant und somit nicht ausschließlich im Personenverkehr eingesetzt. So kommt es, dass die Lok auch des Öfteren vor Güterzügen angetroffen wird, die planmäßig mit Loks der Reihen 1016 bzw. 1116 bespannt sind.

Da passte es gut, dass der "Nightjet"-Taurus 1116 195 dann gegen 10.30 Uhr mit einem aus leeren offenen Autotransportern bestehenden Güterzug am Münchner Ostfriedhof vorbeikam und vermutlich das Ziel München Nord hatte.

Eigentlich gilt ja: Was reinfährt, muss auch irgendwann mal wieder raus. Das galt auch an diesem Tag, allerdings nahm die Lok einen anderen Weg zurück nach Österreich: Statt wie auf der hier gezeigten "Hinfahrt" über den Münchner Südring, Laim und Moosach trat sie ihren Rückweg von München Nord dann über den Nordring - also über Johanneskirchen - an und entschwand somit wieder unerkannt in ihre Heimat. :)

A propos: Ich berichtete ja schon einmal, dass ich an genau dieser Fotostelle von einem besorgten Anwohner des gegenüberliegenden Wohnkomplexes von seinem Balkon aus gefragt wurde, was ich denn da "bei den Gleisen" machen würde und ob ich denn "ein Selbstmörder" sei... Nach einer ausführlichen Erklärung meiner Tätigkeit ließ er sich auch davon überzeugen, dass es entgegen seines Vorhabens definitiv nicht nötig ist, jetzt wegen einer suizidgefährdeten Person die Polizei zu rufen. Auch am Tag dieser Aufnahme wurde der Anwohner (bzw. aus seiner Perspektive: der Fotograf ;) ) wieder gesehen - vermutlich erinnerte er sich an unseren Dialog wenige Tage vorher und grüßte winkend von seinem Balkon aus mit einem herzlichen oberbayerischen "Seeeervus!". :)

So sehr mir beim ersten Aufeinandertreffen bzw. bei seiner Nachfrage zunächst ein hämischer Kommentar auf den Lippen lag, da ich ja auch mit Warnweste und Kamera dort stand: Letztlich ist es doch gut zu wissen, dass es noch Menschen gibt, die sich auch um andere sorgen und in so einem Fall, der für einen Außenstehenden durchaus missverständlich wirken kann, lieber einfach mal nachfragen und schauen, ob sie helfen können. Je öfter ich über diese Situation nachdenke, desto ehrenwerter und vorbildlicher finde ich ein solches Verhalten. (y)

Noch kurz zum Hintergrund der Nightjet-Beklebung der Lok:

Die ÖBB übernahmen zum Fahrplanwechsel im Dezember 2016 weitgehend den Nachtzugverkehr von der DB, die diesen aus Gründen der Wirtschaftlichkeit abgestoßen bzw. die verbleibenden Nachtverbindungen durch "normale" IC- bzw. ICE-Leistungen ersetzt hat. Nachdem die ÖBB bereits im grenzüberschreitenden Fernverkehr mit ihrer Marke "Railjet" unterwegs ist, benannte sie die Marke des Nachtzugverkehrs kurzerhand "Nightjet", die bereits nach den ersten Monaten schon als voller Erfolg eingeschätzt wurde.
