Foi a partir precisamente da terceira década do nosso século que o Lousal começou a ser explorado de forma mais intensa, facto a que não é estranha a importância crescente, do ponto de vista económico, das pirites cupríferas, em virtude da procura do ácido sulfúrico. A SAPEC, que em 1928 começava a laborar em Setúbal com uma fábrica de superfosfatos, pertencia ao mesmo grupo proprietário das minas e era um dos consumidores internos das pirites do Lousal, juntamente com a CUF (ainda que esta estivesse principalmente ligada ao complexo mineiro de Aljustrel).
Foi entre os finais dos anos 50 e o início dos anos 60 que se iniciaram estudos para a mecanização das minas do Lousal, tendo havido contactos com as Minas de Montevechio, na Sardenha, cujo chefe dos serviços mecanizados fora o inventor dos protótipos de elementos-chave introduzidos nos trabalhos de lavra do Lousal – as pás carregadores pneumáticas autotransportadoras e os camiões pneumáticos auto transportadores de entulhos (dumpers).

On the outer river Elbe offshore of Cuxhaven: on the right a big Car Carrier, then a huge Cruiser and besides a Coaster. / Auf der Aussenelbe vor Cuxhaven: Ganz rechts ein recht großer Autotransporter (KESS, "Schwimmendes Parkhaus"), dann ein riesiges Kreuzfahrtschiff der MSC-Reederei und davor ein KÜMO oder kleiner Frachter.
Op 12 april 2015 is de vervoerder HSL Logistik druk in de weer om ruim 300 Ford Ka’s naar de Vlissingse Sloehaven te brengen. Het is zondagmiddag, de zon schijnt uitbundig. Een uitgelezen moment voor de doordeweeks hard werkende treinhobbyist om de trein te vereeuwigen. Trekkracht van de trein is de fameuze blokjeslok van HSL Logistik, voorzien van stickers die verwijzen naar genereuze (!) sponsoren.
De trein is afkomstig vanuit Pools-Silezische stad Tychy. Daar staat de autofabriek van Fiat, waar zowel de Ford Ka als ook de vrolijke Fiat 500 wordt gemaakt. Beide type auto’s staan op hetzelfde onderstel, vandaar.
De auto’s worden in de Sloehaven op de terminal van de Antwerpse rederij Cobelfret verladen. Op deze terminal worden (vrijwel) uitsluitend auto’s van het merk Ford verladen, en wel de exemplaren voor de Engelse markt. Het stuurwiel van de auto’s op de Vlissingse treinen zitten dan ook rechts.
Fraai uitgelicht door de vroege voorjaarszon, heeft de trein zojuist Barneveld achter zich verlaten en spoedt zich richting Amersfoort.

Berliet became part of Citroën in 1968. Together both companies developed a new cabin and truck using style elements of the Berliet Stradair and technics of the Citroën Belphegor.
Later, in 1974, the Citroën-Berliet truck division was taken over by Renault. In 1978 Berliet merged into Renault RVI together with Saviem and slowly the brand name Berliet disappeared.
These Dauphin trucks appeared to be very rare today.

From Denver west, this was the standard carrier used by Commercial Carriers in the 1980's. Before their take over by Ryder, these trucks were painted tan and brown.
KAT O/O rig that may have hauled for Dixie previously. One of a few Cottrell trailers that KAT had in Balto. Probably a better trailer than the Bankheads they used.
Eine Schweizerin in der Oberpfalz - der Mietvertrag bezüglich 15 Re 4/4 der SBB Cargo, die nun für TXLogistik fahren, macht dies möglich. Eine Lok aus diesem Kontingent ist die 421 377, die am 25. April 2014 bei Dettenhofen vor dem DGS 75733 von Bremerhaven Nordhafen nach Regensburg Ost aufgenommen werden konnte.
