The top of the stairs in the atrium at the Boston Public Library in Copley Square. This is the library's Johnson Building, which houses the circulating library.
The Dutch architect of Holland House, H P Berlage had been influenced by buildings he'd seen on a visit to the US in 1911 which inspired this central atrium.
Media Museum of the Netherlands Institute for Sound and Vision, Mediapark Hilversum - Neuteling Riedijk Architects.
The building consists of five levels below street level and five levels above street level. In the underground, the national archives of Dutch radio and television recordings are stacked around a deep canyon. Above ground, a staged volume contains the media museum. The third element is the office building of the institute. The three volumes together enclose a large public atrium.
The atrium of West credit. I did this while walking on my leg to stretch it (got hit by a car recently, needs the exercise) and so i took this on a whim, but the symmetry and lighting kinda spoke to me after i reviewed it in the camera's LCD.
I'd say the most interesting of the Natchez mansions is almost certainly Longwood. One of the things that makes it particularly interesting is that it was never finished - what we have here, folks, is basically an incredibly ornate shell - only the basement was ever occupied - which enables you to go visit and take a look at what a mid 19th Century construction site looked like, random scaffolding boards and all!
The atrium between Johnson County Community College's two new buildings - the Regnier Center and the Nerman Museum of Contemporary Art. There is also seating here for the museum's restaurant.

The full-height atrium with a glass curtain wall is typical of I.M. Pei's work and can be seen in most of his public buildings.
Nice, but totally inappropriate architecture for a government building. When it was first built, architect Helmut Jahn failed to provide private conference rooms; space had to be rented in another building for confidential meetings. They should have just done a gut rehab of the Sherman House Hotel, which previously occupied this site.
The Central Library Atrium at Paradise Forum in Birmingham, England.
Work is under way with the demolition of this building, most of the work is going on inside the building at the moment.
Starts on deck 4 and rises five flights to deck 9 and a skylight on deck 10.
