I had a shoot on the Monday and Tuesday, decided on a 'FREE' day (bus man's holiday, lol) in the Capital.
Chose the HOTTEST day of Summer! Suffered, but it was well worth it.
It was buzzing and wonderful.
This spectacular structure, designed by Sir Norman Foster, spans the immense space of the Great Court inside the British Museum.
This courtyard inside the British Museum employs state of the art engineering to create the largest enclosed courtyard in Europe.
Dominating the scene is the circular rotunda/Reading Room, with stairs leading up to upper levels and a cafe.

The first year is documented in this book:
Granada Cathedral, or the Cathedral of the Incarnation, 1561.
Unlike most cathedrals in Spain, construction of this cathedral had to await the acquisition of the Nasrid kingdom of Granada from its Muslim rulers in 1492; while its very early plans had Gothic designs, the construction of the church in the main occurred at a time when Spanish Renaissance designs were supplanting the Gothic regnant in Spanish architecture of prior centuries.
The cathedral is Gothic in plan and proportion, the details are Renaissance. The groin vaulting is Gothic intersecting arches. The main arches are round with a suggestion of a horseshoe. The five naves are divided by huge pillars of the Corinthian order.
The dome of the main chapel is decorated with beautiful stained glass, sculptures and paintings by Alonso Cano.

My rheumatologist's office is on the sixth floor of the Atrium Building at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois...quite possibly one of the most beautiful buildings for indoor photographs I have experienced.
Atrium, designed by Alex Jacque, is a sturdy, linear, geometric sans-serif display typeface based off century-old pen art by W.E. Dennis.
Atrium’s stubbornly geometric letterforms are set off with a few softening flourishes on a few glyphs. It’s sharp corners, straight verticals and horizontals make Atrium pack some punch when used in headlines, pull quotes, and logotypes.
Atrium was released in 2012 in OpenType format and comes in three different weights: light, regular, and bold, with a regular and oblique version of each for a total of 6 styles in the family.

A family holiday visit to the British Museum. I haven't been there for years and was impressed with the new atrium that now covers the central court yard and library.
A view of the atrium (2nd floor). We often hear children enjoying the echo of their voice from this floor.
