Stitched panorama of the inside of the new Auckland Museum Atrium shot while waiting with the kids to go to the Dinosaur Petting Zoo. Very quick upload (about 15 minutes work) - there's lots of seams visible that I don't have the time to fix. Gives me a good idea of how to take it properly for sometime when I don't have the kids though.
Shot with my little point & shoot Canon IXUS 860, stitched in Hugin, and final post processing in Photoshop. Not a real HDR, but using heavy local mapping to create a viewable exposure across the scene.
This is a rather unremarkable shot but since the rent-a-cop told me I couldn't take pictures in atrium, I thought I'd post it anyway. We were just there for the Starbucks.
This is the view out the window of my office. The frosted glass goes up to about five and a half feet, giving me something like privacy. Not a big deal. At least I get light.

The Atrium of the Fishing Cupids is semicircular, with a four column portico.
In the centre of the atrium is a small, shallow pool. There are remains of a fountain in the middle of the pool.
Cupids aboard six boats are fishing in the abundant sea, teeming with life, employing a number of different fishing techniques. In the centre of the composition a pair of cupids are swimming in the sea. In the background, along the outer perimeter of the semicircle, the shore is lined with a number of porticoes with pavilions.

Villa Romana del Casale is one of the richest, largest, and varied collections of Roman mosaics in the world.
The visible remains of the villa were constructed in the first quarter of the 4th century AD.
The villa was damaged and perhaps destroyed during the domination of the Vandals between 469-478. The outbuildings remained in use, at least in part, during the Byzantine and Arab periods. The settlement was destroyed in 1160-1 during the reign of William I. The site was abandoned in the 12th century AD after a landslide covered the villa.
The mosaics are probably made by African artists; very similar ones were found in Cartage and other places in North Africa.
