The atrium of the Lloyds Building in the City of London. Designed by Richard Rogers, the Lloyds Building is notable for siting many of its services on the visible exterior rather than concealing them within the interior.

These two roads have traditionally formed the southern and south-eastern boundaries of the central business district of Cardiff, and in recent years have seen a great deal of new development with much due in the next few years. Recent developments such as the 23 story Altolusso apartment complex, and the Big Sleep Hotel are set to be joined by (from west to east), a new 11 story office building (on the site of the old Central Hotel - destroyed by fire in the early 2000s); the Meridian Gate development (consisting of 11-story apartment block and a 20-story Radisson SAS Hotel); a new John Lewis department store as part of the St. David's 2 shopping expansion; Harlech Court (consisting of apartments and a rooftop restaurant); the University of Glamorgan's new ATRiuM campus along with the 21-story Ty Pont Haearn student halls; and 3 further residential towers (of up to 13 stories) with lower floor retail and commercial use."

Elevator atrium on the world's largest passenger cruise ship, Royal Caribbean Allure of the Seas, decorated with hanging beaded dress forms. At 1187 feet (360 meters), the ship is almost a quarter-mile in length and 124 feet longer than the Eiffel tower head to toe. She carries over 6000 passengers and 2500 crew on 18 decks (floors). The base of the ship is so busy with crew prepping for service to thousands of passengers 24 hours a day, that it is referred to as a super highway, Interstate 5.
Most amazing ship I have ever seen in my life, with such exemplary, creative lifestyle spaces, you never feel as if you are crowded, and you are never queuing up for long waits. My family and I have been twice on this Oasis class ship, once on Allure of the Seas during its maiden year, and once on its sister ship, Oasis of the Seas. Allure is just 2 inches longer, and technically ranks as the world's largest ship due to that extra stretch of steel reaching out as the more outgoing of twins often do.

They are setting up for a French regional services event, similar to Sounds of the Season - a fund raiser for French families in need in the Toronto area.
The Atrium is one of the cosiest places on the Radiance of the Seas. It is situated in the centre of the ship, so we could easily access it from our stateroom. Not only is it beautifully decorated, it offers a nice relaxing atmosphere with music constantly being played ranging from classical to jazz. A great place to spend an hour or two in the late afternoon before dinner.
