This photo does -not- properly convey the size of this atrium. Fun fact: I've seen the fountain turned on recently (on a Sunday evening).
View of the NAB's vertical atrium from the ground floor. A large plate window located at the building's peak provides the entire Atrium with natural light. The secondary central staircases, which lie above the semitransparent hanging features seen in this photo, provide transportation between the upper floors of the building.
The Atrium of the Fishing Cupids is semicircular, with a four column portico.
In the centre of the atrium is a small, shallow pool. There are remains of a fountain in the middle of the pool.
Cupids aboard six boats are fishing in the abundant sea, teeming with life, employing a number of different fishing techniques. In the centre of the composition a pair of cupids are swimming in the sea. In the background, along the outer perimeter of the semicircle, the shore is lined with a number of porticoes with pavilions.

Villa Romana del Casale is one of the richest, largest, and varied collections of Roman mosaics in the world.
The visible remains of the villa were constructed in the first quarter of the 4th century AD.
The villa was damaged and perhaps destroyed during the domination of the Vandals between 469-478. The outbuildings remained in use, at least in part, during the Byzantine and Arab periods. The settlement was destroyed in 1160-1 during the reign of William I. The site was abandoned in the 12th century AD after a landslide covered the villa.
The mosaics are probably made by African artists; very similar ones were found in Cartage and other places in North Africa.

This is the atrium in the Fashion Mall, South Floridas least crowded mall. You'll note not a single person in the entire shot. Place is always empty, don't knwo how they stay in business. Yet it's a beautiful mall, but how many malls does one county need?

I'm pretty sure this courtyard is left over from before the renovation. I had a weird sense of deja vu, like I was suddenly back at the 1996 WorldCon.
