"Custom House Street/Bute Terrace/Adam Street

These two roads have traditionally formed the southern and south-eastern boundaries of the central business district of Cardiff, and in recent years have seen a great deal of new development with much due in the next few years. Recent developments such as the 23 story Altolusso apartment complex, and the Big Sleep Hotel are set to be joined by (from west to east), a new 11 story office building (on the site of the old Central Hotel - destroyed by fire in the early 2000s); the Meridian Gate development (consisting of 11-story apartment block and a 20-story Radisson SAS Hotel); a new John Lewis department store as part of the St. David's 2 shopping expansion; Harlech Court (consisting of apartments and a rooftop restaurant); the University of Glamorgan's new ATRiuM campus along with the 21-story Ty Pont Haearn student halls; and 3 further residential towers (of up to 13 stories) with lower floor retail and commercial use."

My rheumatologist's office is on the sixth floor of the Atrium Building at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria, Illinois...quite possibly one of the most beautiful buildings for indoor photographs I have experienced.

Atrium, designed by Alex Jacque, is a sturdy, linear, geometric sans-serif display typeface based off century-old pen art by W.E. Dennis.

Atrium’s stubbornly geometric letterforms are set off with a few softening flourishes on a few glyphs. It’s sharp corners, straight verticals and horizontals make Atrium pack some punch when used in headlines, pull quotes, and logotypes.

Atrium was released in 2012 in OpenType format and comes in three different weights: light, regular, and bold, with a regular and oblique version of each for a total of 6 styles in the family.

One of my favorite sketching places in the winter when it is too cold to draw outdoors is the indoor skating rink at 1000 de la Gauchetière. The trend nowadays is to do computer work at the rink at the same time as watching skaters! Pen and Prismacolors

Mon Repos ressemble à une petite réplique de l'Achilleion, le célèbre palais de l'impératrice Sissy à Corfou, mais il est moins grandiose.

Atrium/courtyard at the house of the Vestal Virgins. There's not much left of the house. Julius Caesar lived there when he was Pontifex Maximus (chief priest).

I think this flag in the Johnson Building of the Boston Public Library was put up after 9/11. If nothing else it adds color to the atrium.

(The building is named for its architect, Philip Johnson.)
