Nastya (32) from Odessa, Ukraine, gave birth safely through a cesarean section on the 31st of March 2022 in Chisinau, Moldova.
She named her daughter Nicole – a name of Greek origin meaning "people of victory/success". She hopes this name will bring luck to her daughter.
Nastya has only one big regret now - that her husband was not able to attend the delivery and do skin-to-skin contact with his newborn girl.
The Municipal Clinical Hospital Nr.1 from Chisinau is one of 8 maternity facilities in Moldova that UNFPA will equip in the near future with modern equipment to support pregnant women and safe deliveries among Ukraine refugee women.
