I finally decided to use this one as my final submission, whilst it is not the most minimal that I achieved, I think it has more interest....I do not think Missy has realised that Huck vanished but when she does she will be after that naughty Tasku.

This is a macro shot of a woven basket with each straw less than 1/4" (6mm) wide. I like the colors and texture of this picture and how the narrow band of focus draws you to the features of the material.

So, the concept was easy as I had already obtained several of the items because I had wanted to shoot this for about 6 months, but never actually got around to it. This assignment was just what I needed to get this done. And now, of course I have MORE ideas like this that I want to try!
The biggest issue was that I had originally wanted to shoot in daylight and see how creative I could be with just a few modifiers...but I started later than I should have and lost the sun very quickly.
I wound up using my Canon 430EX Speedlite with an orange gel as my light. Then I got lucky and my roommate came home and was willing to do some photo assisting, which allowed me to stay loose creatively and work faster than if I were forced to do everything myself!
All in all I am surprisingly pleased with the results. I hope you are too!

This was my version of a candid photo. I watched this lady for several minutes while she was on the phone. Initially she was pacing back and forth, not in the direction of the camera. I took a few this way, but it wasn't as dynamic. Once she was finished with her call, she walked directly toward me looking down and I snapped a few. This was the most satisfying as her one foot is just off the ground. I did crop this a little to get some of the clutter out of the picture and did some enhancing. I do wish however that she was lined a little more to the right for the rule of thirds.
This was shot for project52.org assignment 3: Still Life for an Editorial Article.
I spent about 30 min searching the house for items to photograph, about 30 minutes setting up the shot 10 minutes shooting and tweaking and 30 minutes working on the post processing.
