Cold fronts were a bit of a pain in July / August but they did produce some dramatic skies if you were lucky with the light. Shutlingsloe is a hill near the village of Wildboarclough, in the east of the county of Cheshire. It stands to the south of Macclesfield Forest, on the edge of the Peak District.
A steep-sided hill, sometimes described as the 'Matterhorn of Cheshire', it is the third highest peak in the county and commands excellent views over Cheshire.
The name derives from old English 'Scyttel's hlaw' meaning 'Scyttel's (personal name) hill' and is one of several 'low' names in the Peak District, from the same Old English root that gives rise to the name "Law" for many hills in southern Scotland.

The bottom signal was flashing red which I believe was signifying that they were crossing the Lynndyl sub and heading onto the IPP Industrial Lead. Which is exactly what it did.
One of First Air's ATRs' had to hold above the Yellowknife VOR for a bit due to a vis of 1/8sm and RVR 1100.
At a temperature of -43 on the ground, the fog is caused only by the emissions from building furnaces, cars, airplanes, etc.
I never did find out if he made it in or diverted to Hay River.
A day of wind, rain and sunshine today. I'm sure there was hail mixed in with it on the cycle ride to work. Clear on the way home, but with another shower approaching. Nice to see that all the damaged glass panels on the bridge have now been replaced. Fingers crossed that it stays that way.
