My least favoured perspective, but the needs must. Had to go up to replace a burnt out anchor light.
Yesterday a random Flickrite approached me, asking if he could use one of my photos for an article about flip-flops. The only reason I mention it is because at first the random Flickrite had me worried that he wasn't a real person (two separate accounts, it seems, with the same name but the numbers in it were switched around), and secondly because there was a news report about the flip-flop thing. The random Flickrite seemed a little less dubious after that, but I still think he's a little on the weird side. (Sorry random person, if you're reading this!) Seriously, why in the world would anyone need two Flickr pro accounts, each with only approximately 18 pics on them?
Anyhow, there are my troll-prints. I only have eight toes altogether, apparently.
P.S. In Hawaii, we call these slippers. I have to remind myself to call items by names such as "flip-flops" and "pop."

An approach diverge signal indication is displayed on the track 1 signal at 80th for the 10:48 AM inbound Metra. This signal indication is quite hard to see here. 6/13/13
Shooting into the sun is not usually the ideal choice for the photographer, but the travel pattern of the Southern Pacific's Van Nuys Local along the railroad's Burbank Branch gave us few options if we considered other elements of potential pictures more important. The local would often leave Gemco yard in Van Nuys early in the morning and head east on the main line to Burbank Junction, where it entered the Branch and headed west (and so, with the sun behind it), performing its switching chores until it reached the Branch's western end, where it rejoined the main line in Chatsworth. Then it would head east again, to return to Gemco. Thus the route it traversed very nearly represented a real-world version of that most unprototypic, but very common, model train track arrangement of a basic oval.
The little train (12 cars, plus a caboose) is seen here approaching the Oxnard Street and Woodman Avenue crossings in Van Nuys, California. On another day, I was able to snag a shot of the train nicely lit by the afternoon sun at about this same location.
