On my last day in Venice I got on a vaporetto at Guglie, snagged a seat outside in the back and stayed on all the way around the island, It was a lovely way to see some parts of the city I'd not managed to get to. Next time.
The AMT used to run one train a day each on the Lakeshore line all the way to Rigaud, Quebec (not too far from the Ontario border). They cut this train back to Hudson in 2010. The last train to Rigaud ran on June 30, 2010. These photos were taken on the train to Rigaud 2 months before. I travelled with my girlfriend (now wife), her father (a railway consultant) and a business partner of his, as well as Marc Chouinard, a railfan and regular user of this train.

Approaching the first "official" highlight of the trek, the large village of Wallung with the large monastery that overlooks the village. Though we have seen many signs of Tibetan culture starting in Lelep, the village with its alpine character is a great example of thriving Tibetan culture in remote corners of Nepal.
The view over the nose on approach to Grissom Air Reserve Base, Indiana. The massive 12,000 foot runway stretches out ahead, the Grissom Air Museum is just on the perimeter to the right and the 434th Air Refuelling Wing facility is beyond.

On the road between Lagos and Badagry: the Lagos-Badagry Expressay is in need of some repair but is so busy and crowded that it would be hard to close it for improvements. Driving along it, if not in a hurry, and I wasn't, provided never-ending vistas of daily life.
