Here you can clearly see several of the key elements of the city. On the right front in yellow is Fort Amsterdam. The colorful buildings behind it are the Punda. To the left, on the Otrobanda, the structure resting against the harbor wall just in front of the blue building is the old Queen Emma Bridge. This is a floating pontoon bridge which opens each time a boat (large or small) wants to pass through. The towering modern bridge in the background is the Queen Juliana Bridge, built in 1967 and rebuilt in 1974.
Another shortish airfield this one although the tarmac's in good condition. We can't take a full plane of passengers out of here but it's ok going in, provided you don't take too much fuel!
As ships leave Tampa Bay they pass under the Sunshine Skyway Bridge that carries Interstate 275 about 175 ft/53m above the bay.
While in Parkes for the CWAS Astrofest and David Malin Astrophotography Awards last weekend, I was lucky enough to have a 1 hr personal tour of the Dish by Operations Scientist John Sarkissian... an amazing experience! Got to see the Control Room and Radio Equipment Room in the tower, and then walk around the azimuth track and climb up towards the dish itself!
The 64m Dish looms very large when you get this close!
This series of images was taken at Bunjaree Cottages near Wentworth Falls in the Blue Mountains. All were taken using a Nokia Lumia 925 smartphone with the camera on its default settings, except for the close-ups of the various flowers, which had the Scene set to "Close-up".

Early morning arrival into Berlin-Tegel, with one of the major sights ahead: the "Alex" television tower.
Working a North East / South West service heading for Platform 4 at Doncaster Railway Station before heading West towards Sheffield and onto Birmingham. The complexity of track at Doncaster Northern approaches can be seen where the lines from Leeds, Hull, Scunthorpe & Grimsby funnel into the Station.
The Class 221 are similar to the Class 220 Voyager units, but they were built with a tilting mechanism enabling up to six degrees of tilt to allow higher speeds on curved tracks, most have 5 coaches, and they have a different bogie design. They have a maximum speed of 125 mph (200 km/h). Currently these trains are divided between two operators, Virgin Trains (21 sets) and Cross Country (23 sets). The sets operated by Cross Country have now had their tilting equipment disabled to improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs
