Castle Sween, taken June 2012. I had the privilege of working in Argyle and of course took my camera. However, the next series of photos from the shore, looking upto the castle, was costly! A gust of wind knocked over my tripod, dashing my wide lens and camera into a rock pool. A lesson for us all, make sure your kit is insured. Thankfully my household insurance covered it!!!!

RD18754. Approaching Blonay on the metre gauge Chemin de Fer Blonay-Chamby behind Brig-Furka-Disentis Bahn 2-6-0 Rack Tank No.3.
The Chemin de Fer Blonay-Chamby is a 3 kilometre long metre gauge volunteer run heritage railway near Vevey in western Switzerland. They have an amazing collection of steam and electric rolling stock and a visit is highly recommended.

The 'runs when required' Dalzell steel ran on the 25th July 2017. At 1844 the empties returning to Tees Yard are seen approaching Prestonpans on a dull evening. 66207 is hauling 6E30 Dalzell - Tees Yard empty steel.
Winter cassia in Bloom so prepare for approaching winters. Surprising that Earth warming every year the plants still remember winters!
Common name: Winter cassia, Butterfly Bush
Botanical name: Cassia bicapsularis Family: Leguminosae (pea family)
The Winter Cassia is a legume native to tropical America, but can be found in almost all the tropical areas of the world. It is one of those surprising shrubs; when other plants are going dormant, it bursts into yellow. The Cassia are a confusing bunch with an estimated 500 species. The flowers are also very attractive to bees and butterflies. Winter cassia is a bright, eye-catching plant with yellow buttercup flowers, inside which are curly stamens. The flowers are borne in large sprays and stay in full bloom for a long period. When not in bloom the plant remains attractive due to its lovely fern-like leaves. It is a large shrub, or even small tree, reaching about 3 metres high. It is evergreen and, since it is quite dense and quick growing, makes a good screen.

On the road between Lagos and Badagry: the Lagos-Badagry Expressay is in need of some repair but is so busy and crowded that it would be hard to close it for improvements. Driving along it, if not in a hurry, and I wasn't, provided never-ending vistas of daily life.
After taking the bus downtown, I walked to Houston City Hall. These are some of the beautiful Live Oak trees in the park that stay green even during the winter. From this location I listened to the Mayor of Houston Sylvester Turner proclaim that Houston get its strength from our diversity. Houston Police Chief Art Acevedo said, "I am an immigrant; I am a refugee!"
We are a nation of immigrants. My family immigrated / fled from England, Ireland, Germany, France, and the Netherlands. When I served in the US Army, besides American citizens, we had citizens of Mexico, Canada, Australia, Jamaica, and Trinidad in our unit. In my civilian various jobs, I have worked with people from Mexico, El Salvador, Columbia, Brazil, China, Taiwan, Vietnam, India, Nepal, Pakistan, Iran, Senegal, Nigeria, and France. Immigrants are my fellow shoppers and my neighbors in my apartment complex. I feel at home in such a diverse mixture of people.
If any of my readers have unkind things to say about immigrants, I ask you: Did any of my Army buddies from the Ojibwa Nation or Cherokee Nation invite you over? Did my mother's playmates from the Navajo Nation or Hopi Nation ask you to come play with them? Did any of my teachers from the Choctaw Nation or Chickasaw Nation sign off on your "green card?" I didn't think so.

Just like its counterpart that guards the approach of the diamond on the St-Gabriel subdivision of the QGRY, the CN semaphore indicates and will probably indicate until the end of its days, to prepare to stop when approaching the diamond a few hundred feet further.
I did not plan for this, but I got lucky with the alignment of the moons as my space probe was entering orbit around the gas giant Jool. Just a little 289 m/s burn for both a Tylo and Laythe encounter, passing Laythe in front of its orbit so it kicked my orbit closer to Jool for free.
I got a lot of science points from this mission, and now I can almost unlock either rover technology or the nuclear rocket engine. Not sure yet which of the two I want most.
