The Southbond Signal for the Mainline at CP Wann on the UP (ex-SP, ex-GWWR, ex-ICG, ex-GM&O, ex-C&A, etc.) Springfield Sub shows "Approach" in anticipation of the arrival of Amtrak #21 The Eagle in E Alton, IL on February 6, 2015. This is one of the last remaining B&O era signals on this line from St. Louis to Chicago who's days are numbered.

The 'COVID marshal' despatched me to the front coach of the little narrow-gauge (2ft) train that operates at the East Anglia Transport Museum. Motive power was this little simplex diesel seen here approaching its stock at the principal terminus.

This buck was just across the bayou from the boat launch when I arrived early in the morning. He paid little attention to me until I started paddling toward him and then kept a wary eye on me the entire time. Not as close as I wanted to be, but at least I was close enough to capture the horns that are starting to grow once again. Early preparations for the rut in about 5 months. Valley Railroad No. 3025 approaches the Dump Road crossing in Essex, Connecticut with a trainload of families. On the opposite end of the train is Thomas the Tank Engine - the reason why the families are visiting on this late April afternoon.
