Meigetsuin is a temple of the zen sect near Kita-Kamakura Station.
The hydrangeas of the garden of Meigetsuin is very beautiful
and the temple is nicknamed "Ajisai-dera" or Hydrangea Temple.
I took this photograph in Meigetsuin.

As some of you already know, we’ve been digging deep into our vaults and digitizing 16mm photolog footage from 1966 to give you our BC Road Trip Time Machine video series. (“Photologs” were created to capture road condition information across the province and give our engineers the ability to study a particular stretch of road without having to travel into the field.)
Looking back on these old reels reveals a lot more than just pavement condition. The camera installed onto the dash of a car and driven over 9,000 km of BC highways captured some incredible glimpses of our province during the heyday that was the 60’s. 4M81 Felixstowe - Crewe approaches Narborough, Leicester in the background and the old GCR bridge crossing just behind me. Just in the foreground the railway is a little wider, more trees and other vegetation, I think this must be the last visible signs of a chord that joined the GCR to the LNWR South Leicestershire Branch (ie the current main line). The chord isn't visible on pre-WW1 maps and is disused on a 1920s map, so was presumably put in place during WW1.
Our next walk takes us to the ancient yew forest of Kingley Vale near Chichester and we have scrolled forward to the end of January for a bright and crisp winter morning

An eastbound UP manifest splits the old US&S signals a block west of Biggs Junction, where the double track portion of the Portland Sub gives way to single track.
ČKD-built [1997] Tatra T6A2H unit 906 approaches journey's end at Szeged pu.[Szeged pályaudvar]. The rear Tatra B6A2D unit 952 was built in 1989 by ČKD for Rostocker Strassenbahn AG [RSAG], Germany where it saw service until 1997 prior to its later move to Hungary to join the SzKT fleet in 2005.

Following its laboriously slow struggle on the grade and in the wet to reach Durdevik Colliery with its consignment of empties, 'USA' tank 62-111 attempts one final push towards the pithead, but to no avail as it was low on water and steam pressure. With snow settling on the hilltops and wooded slopes beyond the colliery and unforgiving rain falling in the valley, this scene took me straight back four decades to my visits to the South Wales collieries.

The glorious class Dr12 diesel electric locomotive number 2216 is moving its first meters as warm up. Soon, it is approaching for duty, as its going to be coupled in to its coaches and the journey to Seinäjoki shall start.
A CSX New Castle Subdivision local approaches Arlington Street in Akron, Ohio. Back in the day there was a tower here that controlled the switches and signals at the west end of the yard as well as the junction between the Baltimore & Ohio and Pennsylvania Railroad. (Scanned from a slide)
A Virgin Voyager approaches Abergele at speed with 1D82 0810 Euston to Holyhead on 23rd January 2018.
Another location soon to lose its semaphores, as the North Wales line from Abergele eastwards surrenders its manual boxes when signalling is transferred to the Cardiff ROC in Spring 2018. Amongst those to go are Abergele, Rhyl, Prestatyn, Talacre, Holywell & Rockcliffe Hall,
Work seemed at an advanced stage in late January, with a lot of the new signals ready to go up and with track rationalisation already undertaken at various locations.
