This buck was just across the bayou from the boat launch when I arrived early in the morning. He paid little attention to me until I started paddling toward him and then kept a wary eye on me the entire time. Not as close as I wanted to be, but at least I was close enough to capture the horns that are starting to grow once again. Early preparations for the rut in about 5 months.
