BR Class 37/4 37417 'Highland Region' approaches Dingwall station with 2H62, the 12:00 Wick to Inverness service. The train formation also included the 2H72 12:02 portion from Thurso.

I have not had much time to spend on my computer lately, with various activities and the approaching holidays. And not much time for Flickr. I just wanted to say have a great weekend, and to all Americans, Happy Thanksgiving next Thursday.
This was taken in early October at the Montezuma National Wildlife Refuge in Upstate New York.
On a flight from London to Istanbul, Turkey, this was the first view of the airport and city. We continued descending over the sea, turned left and made our approach and landing.
In the picture, just left of the centre is our destination, Ataturk airport. Also, in the picture, beyond the airport is the centre of the big city.
At the time of writing this a new, bigger airport will soon open, a few miles north of this one and Ataturk will no longer take scheduled passenger flights.
Our aircraft was a Boeing 767.
Alejandro, Eindhoven, Netherlands, 2016
I saw Alejandro waiting on the Nieuwe Emmasingel at Eindhoven. He was waiting for some friends that evening. I approached Alejandro with the question if he wants to pose for me. He agreed so I made some photos of him.
Alejandro is original from Spain. He is a 3rd years PhD student at the University of Technology in Eindhoven. We had a little chat about the University of Eindhoven, where I became Master of Science.
Alejandro told also that he likes to do photography, but doesn’t approach strangers to ask if they want to pose.

Today Alice and I went to Aberdeen to have a look at the University. Alice is thinking of going to study there. This was taken on the approach to Aberdeen station, while we were on the train.

Southbound CTA Green Line run 601 approaches the new (as of 2015) Cermak-McCormick Place station on the oldest section of 'L' in Chicago, the 1892-built South Side Elevated. At 59th St, this train will turn and run west on the Englewood Branch towards Ashland/63rd. In the distance, a Loop-bound Orange Line train passes 17th St Tower, which controls the junction between the Green and Orange lines and the connection to the nonrevenue ramp into the State Street Subway.
Rotary OY and her outfit are seen here approaching the second Highway 17 Crossing, just about 2 miles south of the Colorado State Line.
66590 heaves the 1,800 tonne 6M47 Tyne SS to Carlisle NY up onto the West Coast Main Line at Carlisle on September 27 2021.
66708 has just been opened up after getting a favourable signal. The locomotive is at the head of the 05.29 Southampton Western Docks to Doncaster Iport service. The train is approaching Widney Manor station and the CCTV camera does a fair imitation of a goods yard lamp as it guards the expensive junk in the car park. The car park is built on the old relief lines, the platform from which the picture was taken would have been an island platform when those lines were in operation. Before the relief lines were taken out and before the area became built up very few trains stopped here, the mantra from the tannoy at Snow Hill was "All stations to Leamington Spa except Widney Manor", the island platform had lovely well tended gardens upon it as there was little else for the station staff to do!
Today the station is well kept and has a train service every 20 minutes to and from Birmingham, not all progress is bad.
