This is for reference for those who wonder what the base sculpt looks like. I also have another set of pics for this head after the eyes were open if anyone is interested (I forgot to put eyes in... >.<). I thought this would be a great resource for the DD community most especially when trying to discover what sculpt works best for custom DD.
Over time I'd be excited to add more sculpts if I am able to get them. I have a blank 05 that I just need to take pics of, and Kos-Mos' sculpt will also be done, but I plan on getting the 360 view of her faceup before it gets scrubbed off. I also have the Haruka Amami sculpt that I can do pictures of, but she is the rare exception that I'm disinclined to remove her default faceup. That may change in time, but I highly doubt it.
Paper Animation Kits are great for first-time model builders! What are paper animation kits? Flying Pig and Bob the Dog Animated Paper Models are "automata" - toys or models which use mechanism to "come alive!" Automata have a long and distinguished history. Whether made from paper, wood, brass or leather, they have delighted young and old alike for hundreds of years. Today, building paper automata is still a passion for many.
Both Bob the Dog and Flying Pig animated models are super family activities for both parents and children. Each comes with easy to follow, fully illustrated instructions (just pop out die-cut pieces, glue and assemble) - all you need is some white school glue! Animated models are a fun and easy way to learn about basic mechanisms - you make the cranks and levers that make the model move!

Critical Evaluation -
Overall I am pleased with my animation, but there are things I disliked about it which I could have done better. First of all I feel I could have added a little bit more of a story at the start. The idea is that he’s looking through his cupboards and finds a jar, which makes him super active and motivates him to work out. Secondly, there are parts of the animation I think I could have done better. At the start when he’s opening the jar, his left arm moves slower than it should have, and goes up then down. Instead it should have gone straight to the jar from his side. There was also a scene where he was lifting dumbbells which I got rid of since it didn’t look good enough to put in the final animation. Another part of the animation I feel could have been done better is when he’s scratching his head in confusion. His hand and finger moves too fast, and should have had a slow in and slow out effect. There are parts of the animation which haven’t been staged properly, for example at the start he sniffs the jar to find out what it is, and dude to the lack of secondary actions (nostrils moving) it doesn’t come across clearly. This was because of the lack of facial rigging in the character.
Aside from that there were quite a few things which were in my opinion done well in the animation. Parts of the starting scene were timed right and looked as they were intended to. The mechanics of the weight lifting was quite good too, and had a lot of minor detail such as the character struggling to lift the bar a little near the end of his set. There was also a subtle animation while he was doing crunches, where the feet move up slightly every time he lifts his upper body up which is due to the lack of a weight holding his feet down in place. I tried to add subtle animation anywhere I could to give it a more realistic look. In the scene where he’s doing push-ups his feet disposition slightly again. The bar also doesn’t move evenly when he’s bench-pressing, again to add realism. One of the things I was most proud of, and though was done quite well was the run animation. Every key-frame had to be animated to get it right, and there is a bit near the end where he steps up the pace slightly and clenches his fists while hunching forward, showing us that he’s pushing himself.
Overall I aside from a few changes that could have been made I am pleased with the animation, and consider this valuable experience for me to do even better next time.

This is my basic arrow animation. I made it so the bend curves over in an arch as it flys, and then when it hits the target it wobbles for a bit.
"This section of the park originally was the starting point for the tours of the park's active production studios. Its entrance is marked by a square "studio arch," much like a real Hollywood studio lot entrance might be marked. The Animation Courtyard is home to a number of attractions based on Disney characters of yesterday, today and tomorrow."
