I have no idea how to capture lightning, so any tips would be appreciated!
3 EMD 70's pull up to West Cheyenne where they will wait for their turn into town. This golden light is a true as i saw it, I only cropped this photo and sharpened it. I have never seen such golden light in my life!

H2O is an amazing force that is a huge part of life. We are largely made of it, it sustains us and its force can also cause mass destruction and loss of life. Here it reflects colors and light as it forms into a droplet.
This winter has been an odd one with the El Niño weather pattern.
Normally we have quite a bit of snow by now, but here it is. Very little snow.
While hiking the surrounding woods, I've just been trying to find interesting things.
These roots clinging to the side of a rock dry run caught my attention.
The roughly circular historic centre is the main attraction of Amersfoort. The Eem river runs diagonally through the old city, south-east to northwest, from the Monnickendam to the Koppelpoort. It is crossed at right angles by the Langestraat, part of the old highway from Utrecht to Zwolle, and still the main street. The station is on the west side, and the Town Hall is at the western edge of the old city, on the road to the station. Most of the office buildings in the centre are located on or near this road. Apart from the Langestraat, most of the shopping streets are on the west side of the centre also.

Look at that neck - no wonder it's so hard to spot them. This one flew, and landed not that far from me - otherwise I wouldn't have noticed it.

It always amazes me how nature gives creatures the ability to climb vertically. Birds, Squirrels, even cats to a lesser extent, seem to be able to get a grip on this such as tree trunks. This is in our yard outside Beaverton, Oregon.
