When visiting the amazing Aros art gallery recently in the centre of Aarhus, Denmark's second largest city, I was transfixed by a resident artist creating an impressive new art work in the moment. I was not the only one captivated by this. I think the couple in the 'front row' had been there for a while also enjoying the experience. I noticed they both wore glasses. I was waiting for the split second where you could follow both their sight with the direction of their glasses firmly at the artist. And it happened. A special moment.
This is a shot of a lifetime for me, I have seen the aurora many times in the arctic and it is of course better and amazing, but this is Tucson, near Mexico. The color of the sky, the color of clouds with the odd contrast, the stars............ this is amazing. This is early in the night immediately after full darkness when the aurora was brightest (so far). Nikon Z7II and Nikon 50 mm F1.8. This is the view from my driveway ! A little Moonlight is a fill light- for the landscape.
An epic night across the globe- but an aurora like this in Tucson is amazing and the colors otherworldly. The colors were redder-magenta than to purple.. when purple it was purple haze. A rattlesnake slithered past at one point about 20 feet away, minding its own business, leaving me to my own business, An astro event of the year for Tucson AZ latitude.
Another amazing day at Trona Pinnacles.

The amazing gift shop in the National Museum of Qatar. The cave-like interior by a Japanese designer is a work of art in itself.
I love the Autumn and the changing colours of the leaves as the trees store up their nutrients for the cold days ahead.
Leaf colour comes from pigments. These are natural substances produced by leaf cells to help them obtain food. The three pigments that colour leaves are chlorophyll (green), carotenes (yellow) and anthocyanins (reds and pinks).
The depth of colour is influenced by the blend of chemical processes and weather conditions.
Cold nights: low temperatures destroy chlorophyll so the green leaf fades to yellow, but if temperatures stay above freezing, anthocyanin production is enhanced and the leaves take on a red colour.
Dry weather: sugars become concentrated in the leaves, more anthocyanin is produced and consequently leaves are redder.
Bright sunny days: although the production of new chlorophyll stops in autumn, photosynthesis can still occur on sunny autumn days, using the remaining chlorophyll. Sugar concentration increases, more anthocyanin is produced and the leaves are redder.

A cityscape view from the top of the elegant Old Town Bridge Tower. The Old Town Bridge Tower is a beautiful Gothic tower guarding one end of Charles Bridge, and heralding entrance to the Old Town. This blackened, aged gate was completed in 1380 and forms part of the old fortification system of Prague, built to protect the Old Town against northern invaders.
The Charles Bridge is a famous historic stone bridge that crosses the Vltava river in Prague, Czech Republic. It is the main pedestrian route connecting the Old Town with the Lesser Town. Its construction started in 1357 under the auspices of King Charles IV, and finished in the beginning of the 15th century.

A pre dawn drive to the Marin Headlands through dense fog was the price, the view of the Golden Gate Bridge today priceless !!
I had an inkling that a walk up to Platform Peak for sunset might be the way to go judging by weather forecasts of incoming weather to end the hot and sunny March day. Indeed it was a hot grind up to the summit as I brought my heavy telephoto lens with me on the off chance. The balmy evening was so therapeutic as I sat on a big boulder snapping away as the sun immersed itself into this amazing formation of clouds. Virtually the whole effect is by the clouds themselves, the only land form are the two ridge lines at the bottom of the photo. The little bump in the middle is the 1250 metre high Mount Field West so that gives you an idea of the scale of the clouds.that form an amazing cloudscape on different layers. I love the top layer, almost like a hill with trees growing on it. Finally the scene dimmed and the brief action was over leaving me to find my way back out through the dark tracks back to my car.

I created this from some shot I took and made a Twirl and then an Amazing Circle but have had it so long that I don't remember what now.. I have used it to make a little movie which I will post later...
You don't know what will happen in the day. I didn't think I can saw this in my life. A new born lamp come to the world today. Congrats and welcome.

Amersfoort is the second-largest city in the province of Utrecht, with a population of around 150.000. Remains of settlements in the Amersfoort region date from around 1.000 BC, but the name Amersfoort did not appear until the 11th century.
While many interesting things have happened in Amersfoort, perhaps the story of its nickname Keistad (boulder city) is the most amusing. A boulder was dragged into the city form the Soest moors in 1661 by 400 people due to a bet between two landowners. This earned the residents of the city the name Keientrekker (boulder dragger), which embarrassed them so much that they buried the boulder in 1672. The boulder was found again in 1903 and has now been placed in a prominent spot as a monument, although it may not be there for every visit, as it has been regularly stolen as a prank.

For the first time I saw the sunset with this reflection of light and for some time enjoyed in view. I was so impressed with the scene that I took the camera only when my husband asked me why I did not shoot it. It seemed so beautiful and unreal.
