Hello my amazing Flickr friends !!
Today is a blue day at Color my World daily and the theme at Looking close on Friday is first name. As you can see, I decided to go with my own first name. It is the longest first name in my family so it makes bigger pictures LOL. When I was a teenager, I hated my name and I wanted to change it for « Ingrid ». I was under the impression that my first name wasn’t feminine enough and that by changing it I would become this beautiful woman just like the actress Ingrid Bergman. But today, I’m very, very happy that I didn’t change my first name. I like Magdalena very much !!! And I had a blast taking this picture :-). So if you like your first name, if you don't like your name, if you like my first name, if your name starts with a letter M, if blue is you favourite color, or non of the above, there is nothing which keeps you from liking this picture !!!
Today I have my office X-mas party (yes, it is very early this year…) so I’m pretty much sure I will not be able to answer your comments since I will drink like there is no tomorrow and stay up very late ! So see you tomorrow (or maybe the day after depending on the severity of my hungover) !!!

Just before evening falls over Montreux, the scene is filled with a quiet, effortless beauty. The sun is slipping behind the mountains, and its golden rays break through the clouds, stretching across the waters of Lake Geneva like a long ribbon of light. The distant Alpine ridges lie in deep shadow, yet their sharp silhouettes remain clear against the glowing sky.
The lake is calm and almost motionless, carrying only a soft shimmer where the light touches the surface. Sky, mountains, and water seem to merge into one peaceful frame. It feels as if nature itself has slowed down for a moment, gently holding on to the last light of the day.
This is more than a sunset—it is that brief, delicate time between day and night, when everything grows still, and a quiet sense of calm settles in without any reason at all.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Take a photo and post process it to achieve the goal for your subject.
Earlier this week, I had a chance to visit the beautiful Winterthur Museum and Gardens. During my tour of the gardens, I saw a hedgerow of Elephant Ear plants (Colocasia). The sun was shining brightly on the leaves; I had never studied them up close before, and did not realize how incredibly beautiful the leaf structure was. Backlighting by the sun revealed an intricate pattern that made for a perfect natural abstract.
Post-processing involved cropping,increasing highlights, sharpening and use of the HDR effect by PicMonkey.
