This photo was taken back in Jan 2023. When I see that there's gonna be a decent sunrise I hop in my golf cart and rush off to some of my different favorite "view spots" around the hills here. Anybody else out there take a long time trying to decide which photo to use? 😂
Another shot from the outing the other day. Its a single exposure but I did make 2 copies of it from raw to bring back some of the highlight on the horizon. Then blended in PS. Used a cokin GND8 in an attempt to hold the rising light but after reviewing back on the PC it i was stil too bright.
Have a great weekend.
The amazing Peacock "Eye" - how does nature do that ! The colors along individual feathers blend together to make one gorgeous "eye". Of course, there are many eyes that are used to attract and perhaps almost hypnotize females !
Seen at the Los Angeles County Arboretum where Members are spoiled with this display on a regular basis. Hit "L" for a closer look.
The amazing historic library at the Convent of Santo Domingo in Lima, Peru. You had to have special permission to actually look at the books, but the view from the entryway was fantastic.

Saturday Self-Challenge: Take a photo and post process it to achieve the goal for your subject.
Earlier this week, I had a chance to visit the beautiful Winterthur Museum and Gardens. During my tour of the gardens, I saw a hedgerow of Elephant Ear plants (Colocasia). The sun was shining brightly on the leaves; I had never studied them up close before, and did not realize how incredibly beautiful the leaf structure was. Backlighting by the sun revealed an intricate pattern that made for a perfect natural abstract.
Post-processing involved cropping, increasing highlights, sharpening and use of the HDR effect by PicMonkey.
Have a wonderful weekend, my friends! :-)
The photography on this postcard is phenomenal. I love the close-up of his eyes. I am not even sure of the creature? He is hanging onto the plant!
A fabulous sun set made all the more amazing as Ireland was visible on the horizon. In 40 or more years of looking I have never seen this before.
This brickwork ceiling is in the stable block at Houghton Hall in North Norfolk. It seems amazing that this amount of detail was put into an area such as a stable.
Its amazing what you can find on an early morning walk after the rain. God's design is amazing even in the temporary.
