An experimental scan of a tree core, as my scanner has a higher resolution than the one at work. This is the end of the wooden carrier, the core itself is glued onto it and currently facing downwards.
It worked pretty well; I couldn't scan at 4800dpi unfortunately, as I don't have enough RAM.. it was fine at 3200 though. Below is a sample of the scan - sharpened slightly, and oversampled (scaled down by 50%).
My wife and I take an annual trip to the SC coast every new years. From my balcony I waited till just the right moment to capture this fishing boat heading north up the coastline. The sun was glistening on a pretty calm ocean that day.

This was the highlite of the trip its past Vernelle's Motel on the old alignment. You have to take small cross over roads and a lot of times they are blocked to the public. You need to go while they are still there.
