This scallop-edged depression, called Coprates Catena, parallels the main alignment of Vallis Marineris. This suggests that its formation is related to that of Vallis Marineris. Most likely the tectonic forces that enabled the formation of Vallis Marineris formed a parallel fracture at this location, followed by extension and collapse that opened up these large pits that have been subsequently modified. Note that layers are visible in the walls of Coprates Catena.

Before I started work on the ribs, I ran a line from the stem to the stern. Pulled tight, this gives me a line down the center to help align the ribs.

Sometimes the most playful structures offer the most precise geometry. Shot on Day 20 of my 100 Photos in 100 Days challenge, this image captures a row of monkey bars locked in symmetrical alignment—each ring framing the next in an optical tunnel of anticipation. It’s about focus, rhythm, and the memory of movement. You can almost feel the swing between each grip.

Invitation #2 for Total Alignment free workshop on Dirty Footprints Studio. Balance

I really enjoyed the process of this one! I started with random shapes and colors and just tried to completely relax into listening to what the painting was calling for. Soon, shapes flowed together into a woman. Circles turned into planets and a sun.

This one started with random shapes and evolved, too. Three orange ovals into a mermaid with flowing purple hair and a green blob into a whale. Pink magic bubbles floating around. Like another Total Alignment painting, this also is something I've seen in my visual journeys. I didn't set out with any end idea at all, only the intention from the workshop. Its interesting to me that these visions are coming to life in my paintings!
