Suvilahti former gas power station

This image was taken at Greenbriar in the Smokies. It was an exercise in alignment and composition. But first it had to be an interesting topic. My objective was to get an interesting foreground, mid-ground, and background aligned in an interesting fashion. I was walking over a grouping of large boulders and saw this “V” pointing to a small waterfall. I moved around to get the “V” positioned right, stood tall, then got down on my hands and knees to get the right perspective to capture a reflection in the water captured on the rock. The scene had a high dynamic range so I bracketed the exposure. I then combined 2 of the images in Photoshop keeping the brightness up on the rocks and shadows without blowing out the bright white water of the falls.

This was a fun image to capture and work with.

Possible former Michigan Road alignment, Shelbyville.

This is an eastbound photo relative to Shelbyville, but a southbound photo relative to the Michigan Road as a whole.

Another view of clamping scheme. The trick was to still have room to at least tack the 4 corners of the butt joint with the TIG before reducing the number of clamps to have room to MIG the rest of the joint.

Sequence analysis of the full-length cDNA encoding a Rosa canina type-A response regulator, RcRR1.(A) Phylogenetic analysis of putative RcRR1 from Rosa canina and response regulators in Arabidopsis. The aligned sequences were used to construct a phylogenetic tree by MEGA4. (B) Phylogenetic analysis of response regulators from a range of plant species. (C) Sequence alignment of RcRR1 homologs from different species. The alignment was generated using ClustalW and Espript (espript.ibcp.fr/ESPript/ESPript/).

Solder Mask laser cut. This makes applying solder trivial. Basically it took me about 1 min to spread the whole board. You apply the solder as if you were applying spackle on a wall. Same principal.

Amino acid sequence and phylogenic tree of CPC-like R3 MYB proteins.(A) Sequence alignment of SlTRY (Solyc01g095640.1.1), TRY (AC007288) and CPC (FJ268773). Shaded letters indicate identical residues. R3 MYB domains are indicated by a line above the sequences. (B) Phylogenic tree based on deduced amino acid sequences of CPC-like R3 MYB proteins [SlTRY, TRY, CPC, ETC1 (NM100020), ETC2 (FJ972652), ETC3/CPL3 (AB264292), TCL1 (FJ972675), TCL2/CPL4 (FJ972681), Os1g43180 and Os1g43230] were aligned with a multiple alignment program (Genetyx ver. 16.0.2 software, Genetyx, Tokyo, Japan), and a dendrogram was created using clustering with the Unweighted Pair Group Method with Arithmetic Mean (UPGMA). Branch length indicates relative evolutionary distances. Numbers above branches are genetic distances based on 10,000 bootstrap replicates. Distances are shown as the p-distance.

Showing the coupler alignment. Pay no attention to the gap at the top of the buffer plate. Nothing is glued in place so it is hanging loosely in position.

The coupler on the GP35 to the right has been repositioned inboard a bit as well.

One of the most powerful ley-lines in the country for its length, it runs from Fountain Green Square in Bermondsey (from where the picture was taken) across the river to Wapping Pier Head, and thence to Hawksmoor's St. George in the East.

St James in Bermondsey is a later addition to the Southern end of the alignment.

This was the second section for a video clip I was making of doing an alignment. I didn't finish out the video, due to some computer crash glitches.
