This was a thriving business, once upon a time.
It's just too sad...no more Alert Bay Shipyards, no fuel dock. Soon no fishing industry.

Image of the Day 202/365 "Alert" Just like Macy keepin watch, we should strive to constantly be alert and aware of our surroundings. You'll never be able to leverage your strength in an opportunity if you are unaware of the opportunity in the first place.
La voz del Teniente Edison Gerónimo Ayala alertó y convocó de forma urgente a todas las personas que estaban presentes en la SDMujer la mañana del martes 26 de julio, en el simulacro de una evacuación.
The Village Alert Bay waterfront as seen from the water. This lovely little village has a series of historic buildings, on stilts out over the ocean, that line the current main street. These buildings originally housed net lofts, a saltery, a cannery and other fishing related operations.
Here is Whiskey again, my brother's fat two, three year old cat. He is a bit lazy, like almost all cats are. He loves to eat and sleep off most of his day. Of course, he does hunt a lot and brings them as gifts to be cleaned up in my garage.
When I took this picture, there was noise from heavy trucks moving along side the roads. I live in a private area, untill last year, maybe two years ago my aunt sold all her land to the town which are now building a neighborhood. My other aunt is redoing the inside of one of her houses that will be up for rent soon, so moving trucks are taking things back and forth.
Whiskey is a shy cat, he isn't to fond of strangers and will most likely be seen running from any strangers. He also does not like to be charged at, for example- if someone were to run in his direction he takes off to the nearest tree or a place to duck and cover in.
As moving trucks passed by up the road, he listed to the intence high pitched sounds from the wheels and engines. I managed to get a good picture of him while being alert.
