White-tailed Deer yearling keeps a keen eye out for danger. Her mother was nearby. Think we saw this same pair last year, in exactly the same spot, when this deer would have been a very young fawn. Custer State Park, The Black Hills, South Dakota.
Kudus come from the savanna near Acacia and Commiphora shrubs. They have to rely on thickets for protection, so they are rarely seen in the open. Their brown and striped pelts help to camouflage them in scrub environments.
Tussi takes it easy for a couple of minutes - she has been very busy and full of mischief all afternoon ;)
A trip out in the wind and rain tonight produced 2 Tawny owls.
This one seemed very alert. looking around constantly.
I suspect Lady is watching a fly or bumblebee fly around. Just enough to keep her interested but not enough to interrupt her time on the couch!
Found this in the archive. Sorry I had missed it before. Taken in front of Fortnum & Mason, the day UK Uncut had their sit-in during the big anti-cuts demo in March 2011. F&M are claimed to be tax avoiders, by the way. Oh and some anarchists went and paintballed the place.
My new favorite origami dog. I modified the rear legs and some other features taken from the Ares Alanya one. An amazing design.

A very common, and surprisingly lanky garden jumping spider species. Most of our others are compact and chunky.
