Before the pandemic this might have been part of a yard sale. When ppl were staying home they spruced up their furnishings making their old diningroom sets superfluous

So many cool dogs in the park today. I'm not entirely sure what breed this is, do any of you awesome people know?
She barked at us because she couldn't understand why we weren't walking a dog, according to the owners. Legitimate question ;)
You just have to love those white legs the Comma butterfly has! This one was posed very nicely with its wings closed and one leg angled forwards... a butterfly poser for sure!

This Canada Goose was definietly alert to my presence and was signalling to it's partner on the ice.
I don’t usually post multiple photos, but want make a brief point in a rather lengthy narrative. This is another of our bayou residents that is on station on a daily basis on Horsepen Bayou. Multiple opportunities to attack canoeists and kayaker as they paddle by. So why aren’t there multiple attacks in Texas? The alligator has a natural fear of man and if that is ever lost, then the man is in trouble. That usually happens when people start feeding them. I only hope that no one is feeding the alligators on the bayou. In the past 35+ years that I’ve been paddling I know of two alligators that had to be removed because they had become aggressive. I don’t know if they attacked or just lost their fear of people and stared approaching them, but I do know that two have been removed from the bayou. There have been more alligators that have been removed from Bay Area Park, but I don’t know what that number stands at either. People start feeding them, and they lose their fear of people and then, people become the focus of the alligator and so they become more bold and dangerous. I know of any records that are kept or if anyone has been bitten, but I have been at the park and seen one captured and taken away.
The truth about the alligators in the upper reaches of the bayou is that they just want to be left alone. At times I find them sunning themselves and sleeping. I take very few photos of them when their eyes are closed because they just don’t seem interesting when the eyes are closed and they certainly don’t look very threatening when they are asleep. That really was the case with this individual that just wanted to be left alone. If I can manage the situation, I prefer to find them, take my shots, and then move away and leave them to their day. No need to comment the three photos, but you’ll get the idea.
