This Canada Goose was definietly alert to my presence and was signalling to it's partner on the ice.
Wood ant (Formica rufa) in defensive posture. Arne, Dorset, UK.
The brief sunny spell had fooled these ants into the open, and in the sudden shade that followed they were sluggish in retreat - ideal for me.

This is my 2nd year anniversary month on flicker. I've certainly enjoyed these two years. I started out with my little advanced point and shoot, and soon got to the place where I wanted a dslr. I now hope for more reach someday. I can't ever be satisfied. LOL.
Thanks to all of my friends who have encouraged me along the way. I appreciate it.
This jackal got himself caught in an area with several leopards. He actually alerted us to their presence. He was very agitated and eventually found a way to escape.
Just want to give a shout-out to all my Flickr friends and hope that all is well with everyone. Had hoped to be back on for some limited comments, but there will most likely be away for a few more days. Everyone take care and stay warm if you are in the colder climates and will return as soon as possible. Will see how my time allotment works out over the next few days.
