On route home, there was an accident with all the associated emergency personnell. I hope it wasn't serious.
In the hills above Dixon's Creek, this once beautiful 2 storey mud brick and timber home (once owned by a close friend) is reduced to rubble. Molten glass is scattered around, testament to the heat of the inferno...
We had our biggest storm of the winter yesterday. I was tied up during daylight, but drove down at dark, and the waves rolling in on the beach were huge. I went back this morning with a certain trepidation, but was delighted to find that my dragon had survived. Almost everything else is gone, rearranged, or thrown up on the seawalk. The wood at the front of the picture is fifty feet above the normal high tide mark. Dragons is TOUGH.
Got a message on Monday that my dad had been in a terrible accident.
he was backing up his rototiller and fell down. the rototiller got stuck in reverse and pulled him in by his right thigh. luckily the thing stalled after a couple
of seconds had passed. his neighbor found him and held his artery shut until paramedics could get there. that took about 40 minutes. then they had to use the jaws of life to cut the tiller off him. that took another 20 minutes. he flat lined on the way to the hospital.4 and 1/2 hours later and 20 some odd pints of blood he was stabilized. another 2 hour surgery the next day to clean everything out. heck they haven't even sewed him shut yet. but we are hoping for a full recovery. he's got a long road of PT ahead of him thats for sure.
Man he's a tough old bird!!
:D

The 2CW title was on the line between "Big Rig" Brodie Lee and "Juggernaut" Jason Axe in an "I Quit" match!
The clocktower's also one of my favorite secret headquarters. Oracle and the Birds of Prey hang out there a lot.

What fucks you up from a knockout isn't so much getting knocked out, as your lifeless head dropping 5-6 ft. onto a hard concrete surface. Here, I'm pretty sure this poor chap broke his cheekbone. However, he was so amped up on redeeming himself that we literally had to drag him back to the hostel and force ice upon his face (only to have him get up and walk out onto the streets again..).
I snapped a few shots while driving through the wake of the April 10, 2009 tornado that caused massive destruction in Murfreesboro, TN. This is the neighborhood where Carl and Abby live, and I'm so glad that their home was not in the path. The tornado was an EF-4, caused over $40 million in damage, and killed two people.
(I didn't come to rubberneck. This happened on my 30th birthday, and I was on my way to meet friends.)
This isn't really that great of a picture, but I thought it was kind of incredible that this debris (a big hunk of metal siding from the look of it) from the April 10th tornado in Murfreesboro, is hanging up in some trees at Stones River National Battlefield.
I'd not been down to the battlefield since January I guess and was shocked to see the path the tornado cut through there. I talked to a ranger a bit after taking this picture and he told me there was all sorts of stuff scattered through the park, refrigerators, microwave ovens, dvd players, all manner of things. Incredible. I also found out that they are looking for volunteers to help cleanup some of the damage on September 26th. Unfortunately I'll be out of town, otherwise I would volunteer, but perhaps there are others that would be interested. Just contact the park to find out more.

So some of you asked for an update after I posted the video of last night's "event." Here it is, and you get to hear me talk throughout the recording.
Not sure if you can see, but the street still is covered with drifting snow. There's no way I'm attempting to drive yet. Blizzard conditions still exist with the way the wind is blowing, despite the sunshine. Authorities are still telling us to stay home if we don't absolutely need to go somewhere. It's still that dangerous. The winds should subside by this afternoon, and then the plowing will be able to fully clear our streets and parking lots so we can move again.
This is the kind of snow I was used to having when I was a kid in the 1970s and 80s. I enjoyed it MUCH more back then.

This happens every time. Every. Single. Time.
Worse, this is just the short end of an L-shaped workbench. And the floor is just about as bad.
Fuck my life. I knew that cowboy would be trouble... But a minute after entering the bar he turned and opened fire on us.... He hit Terence with a burst from his rifle, and then shot me in the chest. I spun the the ground and dropped my Durkz blade. My armor absorbed most of the blow, but it still hurt like hell. My boss tried to get up and shoot, but he was shot it the leg. Then he hit me on the base of my skull, where my spine meets my neck, with the butt of his gun. I was knocked out. When I woke up, it was later in the day and much lighter. I looked around and saw Terence aganst the wall, dead. The table was broken down the middle and laying on the ground. My head was pounding. I looked outside and saw what I had feared. Our third man, a melee expert who went by the name of Qi, was laying outside the door in a pool of his own blood.
"Fuck", I muttered.
I slowly stood up and noticed that he had taken the weapons.
"Sonuvabitch" I said a little louder.
I slowly began to wander toward the door, wondering what I was going to do next.
