Many of the grass florets were still iced, but in places, where the sun had reached them, the ice crystals had thawed. This is Deschampsia cespitosa grass and it has elegant lolloping heads, accentuated when they are wet like this.
Upon returning to my home while shooting the sunset in the previous picture the sun was painting itself upon the the trees behind my house.
I thought how cool for the theme today. Orange.

Another in my Wave series, this one has mostly crashed back into the sea, with a large amount of spray still lingering at a great height.
I know it seems I post a lot of these images, but to date I have only shown 64 in 9 years on Flickr. I have taken over 3700 photos of storms so far, so the success rate is very low indeed. The biggest problem I have is spotting any with potential among so many, hence the constant revisiting of my work at Porthcawl Lighthouse and the trickle feed to my Photostream, in fact I have another tomorrow.

The life of this house in Fredon Township New Jersey started in 1850 and ended Nov 18, 2022. Cause of the fire is unknown but there is a rumor that propane was involved. The house and surrounding acreage was for sale for $795,000 and I'm sure you could still buy it for that!!
A storm with very high winds hit this local cemetery overnight, bringing down this large oak tree limb.
Another shiny from Aenigma! The AFtermath helmet from Badwolf!
The event is still open, till teh 10th!
The room is empty now. What remains: cinders still
glowing red, the gleam of burnished wood, darkening
corners. The few words we spoke are now lost
somewhere in my memory, lost in this great silence.
When you left, hours ago, the old floor creaked, once.
Dawn comes in, on tiptoe.

I took this last January 5th after an ice storm. We don't have ice on the trees now, but we do have snow ... and cold. Much cold.

Only in the last 24 hrs has the British national media really got to grips and properly reported the devastating effects of Storm Arwen down the North-East coast of Scotland and England, the areas that took the brunt of the winds and the power outages. Another example of the 'levelling-up' needed between south and north which has been much talked about for some while now?
This is the uppermost of 4 trees & a telegraph pole which were brought down blocking the Rugley Road at the top of the bank leading down to Rugley Ford..
This is the view we had between Olds and Sundre, Alberta, moments after I took the photo I posted yesterday.
Location: Vimmershavn
Vimmershavn is a walled-in city where life seems to have vanished... but, of course, it hasn't. If you look closely, you will find pockets of hope and life even within the city.
Nice Creation made by Film Makers..It was being used for the making of the Film "Blitz" which will be a Wartime Film themed TV Drama Filmed in Hull .
