The western US is on fire due to the heat and dry conditions. Houston is suffering the aftermath of Harvey and awaiting the arrival of Irma. The smoke from our house is making for some interesting photographs through the smoke. This is the sunset last night from our deck, no filter over the lens. You can actually see the sunspots with your naked eye.
A patch of field caught on fire and if it weren't for nearby neighbors it would have gotten our home.
April 28 - This is a section of woods the recently burned during the brush fire in Beachwood-Bayville area.

This did not need to happen and unless something is done it will happen again.
At 154 Louis St, a house fire broke out in the afternoon of 9 Dec 2010. According to The Record article linked below, it started on the porch. Only one person was home at the time, and he tried to put it out.
yesterday, a man flew his small plane into the Austin, Texas IRS building. i joined the crowd of people with cameras on the hillside across the highway from the crash site.
what on earth would make someone want to take innocent people with them when they committed suicide? it's hard to wrap my brain around.

We had a huge torrential thunderstorm in the town, leading to the flooding of several shops which had to close, roads becoming impassible, drain covers lifting with the pressure of water and here it was too much for the road surface which got heaved up by all the water
It was over quickly.. he dumped her body in abandoned wasteland. Her eyes closed to this world, and opened to another. That’s when her nightmare really began…
Week 14: "Show us the aftermath." - Maciej Dakowicz
With limit time this week my photo opportunities were limited to what I could find whilst shopping or walking to and from work. Luckily my work is firmly based on the fleeting moments so I found something quite fitting for this week's brief.
This 'aftermath' scene is the result of a few things: one, bad parking by the guilty owner of the silver car; two, the placement of the car beside the freshly painted taxi mural; and finally, the 'Keep Right' sign pointing at the traffic warden who is upholding his position and booking the silver car.
Oracle's got this whole city wired. Nothing goes on without her knowing it.

The train stopped shortly after the truck passed my car. You can see the place where the train struck the truck on the rear tire and the large dent above the wheel. The truck also took out a crossing mast and the relay cabinet.
