The huge flame-throwing articulated metal octopus is built out of mostly scrap metal. The mechanical octopus was designed and created by artist Duane Flatmo and the spectacular fire effects and electrical systems were created by Steve Gellman.

Hot Creek near Mammoth Lakes (California).

A number of hot springs and steamy geysers mix with the cold water of this small mountain stream, bringing its temperature to that of a warm bath at certain locations. The place is dangerous due to unstable ground and sudden eruptions of scalding hot water. People bathe there at their own risks, and some people have been killed or seriously injured there. But it's a beautiful place, and definitely worth a bath if you know and accept the risks (including getting cited for trespassing the warning signs!).

Millions of bats fly out of Deer Cave every evening - Mulu (Borneo)

In the evening, bat colonies fly out of the cave, forming long, undulating snake-like swarms in the sky. The mesmerizing event lasts for about half an hour, just before sunset.

Deer Cave is home to about 4 million Wrinkle Lipped Bats that live in colonies high up in the cave ceiling. Every evening all the bats fly out in huge swarms and clouds to feed.

Royal Enfield Taurus Motorcycle with Diesel Engine (India)

This is a very rare version of the "Bullet" equipped with a diesel engine.

The exact engine size (displacement) is 325cc, i.e.slightly less than the 350cc of the standard bullet gasoline engine.

The large shiny part with small holes on the right side of the engine is a fan case. A fan has been added to cool down the diesel motor (possibly an engine oil cooling system?).

Red Double-Decker Bus - The Nowhere Omnibus Service, by Pete Johnson, Steve Double, Toby Slater - United Kingdom

The Nowhere Omnibus is simultaneously a piece of interactive art and Black Rock City's first genuine public transport infrastructure, providing a regular, reliable, timetabled route around the playa, to the Man and the Temple every day of Burning Man. It will take the form of a red, double-decker London Routemaster bus, complete with bus stops around the Esplanade and visits to Burning Man art exhibits.
