I'm fully able to drink absinthe without cringing, but that wouldn't make a good picture :p

Put a sugar cube on a slotted spoon over a big glass, and pour the shot of absinthe over the cube to soak it.

It's been a while since I had absinthe that wasn't comedy Spanish stuff. Not sure how strong this one is, but it preventing me from tasting the starter ^^;

After Al pointed out that it tasted kind of like Nyquil, it was a lot easier for me to drink. I mean, I've never had Nyquil specifically or any cough syrup that was licorice-flavored, but the afterburn sort of taste - that managed to taste different from most other alcohol's afterburn - made a lot more sense in that context.
